Motel Blue Messe

Walking distance to the Messe Berlin where I was for a work purpose. The hotel is also well located to underground station, restaurants and shops (including ALDI). Staffs are very helpful and hospitable. Breakfast was good.

The phone number listed on Booking.com is incorrect and needed to be corrected

The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good.

I had a mixed experience. The room was very small and located in the interior part of the building, so there was no natural sunlight. One major inconvenience was that there was no hot water for a whole day, and the room smelled of cigarettes, which was unpleasant.

Well located in Berlin, really great rooms.

Could have perhaps had a second pillow each for sleeping…

Overall, the motel is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast offers a good variety of options, though perhaps not catering specifically to Italian sweet tooths. It is conveniently located close to the U-Bahn station.

On our first day, we encountered difficulties accessing the hotel. On the day of arrival, we were provided with detailed instructions to retrieve the electronic key from a safe at the entrance, but the key was not present. We rang the bell, but there was no answer. Luckily, after twenty minutes of attempts, a resident of the building opened the door for us. When we reached the check-in desk and explained the situation, the lady simply replied that the safe was not functioning. I wonder why were we given such detailed instructions if they knew the safe was not functioning.On the day of departure, we left the room for breakfast, only to find that the key had already been deactivated, leaving us unable to return to the room to collect our luggage. The kitchen staff member kindly assisted us, and she was able to generate a new electronic key for our room. This allowed us just enough time to collect our luggage and rush to the airport.Aside from these hiccups, we had a generally positive experience.

Nice clean and refurbed room, I had the superior size which was ok, the bathroom was new and shower good. They are going through decorating on the building at the moment so ignoring that as a negative. There are some odd things but for the value and cleanliness I'd stay again, got used to it after a few days.

Breakfast is good enough, not a great choice but ok. The lift is slow and you have to figure out where reception is, signs could be better, reception opens late and shuts early but friendly.

Only one (awful) pillow. Tiny room. Ridiculously small. Very noisy squeaky rattle old elevator shaft next to the room, in frequent use.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious. The young lady at breakfast was unbelievably kind and pleasant. The breakfast was fantastic, with a delicious raspberry cheesecake and omelette.

It would have been nice to have drinking water in the room. The noise from the street was a bit bothersome, but I was in a room with a balcony overlooking the road.

Everything. The breakfast was amazing with some variety, even some vegetarian options. The staff were very friendly and were able to answer any questions I had. The room was spotless. Bed was so comfy that it was next to impossible to get out of. The bathroom looked fancy and there were plenty of towels - whether it was for the floor, to dry your hands, for the hair or body. Everything was easy to find thanks to the signs everywhere. My partner and I agreed that if we ever come back to Berlin, we'd definitely be booking a room here again!

Far away from center

The breakfast was quite small but sufficient. I missed some yogurt, but the rest was perfect.

Great breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Quiet environment on the the upper floors of what seemed to be a residential building. Wifi worked fine. Close to conference centre and metro stations. Nearby restraunts and shops. Friendly staff. Clean room and facilities. Modern, well decorated interior.

Downstairs entrance hall of the building was a bit dark - you have to make your way up 3 floors to get to hotel reception. The lift was small. Floor space in my single room was quite limited. I would prefer a 24 hour reception. But these were all reasonable trade-offs for the price and they give the place a bit of character.

The breakfast menu was satisfied with me.

It was definitely hard to find the reception. I was confused in the entrance because the door was locked and there was no response even ring the door bell. A kind woman got me in.

Room itself was modern and well decorated. Price was as good. Good location for the conference centre I attended. Decent breakfast

Stairwell and foyer was very dirty old and poor. No 24h front desk. Poor communication as I didn’t find out they left my room key in a lock box until I arrived and had to phone the booking.com customer service. No curtains so very bright in the mornings. Windows didn’t close properly so road noise was very loud. Key card became de magnetised which is worrying with no 24 h front desk.

Great location for the Messe. Lovely new property (opened Nov 2023). Very modern and smart, great facilities. Mini kitchen with 2 hot plates and good size mini fridge, plus tea and coffee in the room. Excellent breakfast included with fresh vegetables, cold meats and hot scrambled eggs, plenty of bread and croissants. Staff were lovely and let me stay in the breakfast room after checking out while I waited for my train.

Unfortunately no curtains in the room to block out the light. I wear an eye mask to sleep anyway so not really a problem.
