    • Simply WOW...
    • The hotel was located inside the park, and right next to the zoo, which made it very quiet, definitely very beautiful in the spring summer months, and made it unique, one of the reasons why I selected it.The gym room was very well equipped, clean and available. The SPA area was very beautiful, and well equipped, although perhaps missing a few more chaises longues. The staff were very friendly (specially the night shift) and tried to help us the best way possible, but it seemed many issues we encountered were out of their control.Due to low occupancy we were able to get a late checkout without having to pay extra, which was very much appreciated.
    • There was an excellent choice at the breakfast bar.The location is very quiet, a little away from the the city centre, which was what we wanted. The staff were extremely helpful.

    Cons -

    • Price
    • It seemed that the hotel has just opened after vacation, or was only partially open. The staff did not seem to know each other or their tasks, there was painters walking around the hotel, walking into the pool area etc. There seemed to have been a reduced staff also, who were not able to help us with some requests which seem relatively easy. The TV software in the room was not working well at all, and the airplay option was faulty, even after technician intervention it did not work. The AC in the room seemed impossible to turn off, and even when set on the maximum temperature it was always rather chilly. The room also seemed to have a ventilation issue, there was a persistant sewage smell present in the room.As a pregnant woman, who eats a pescatarian diet I found the off hours menu choices available at the hotel very limited, and a request for a simple grilled cheese was denied, which seems slightly odd for a 5 star hotel.
    • My stay at this hotel was very frustrating. The first room I was given was extremely dirty, old, and badly maintained. I had to wait over an hour and move rooms twice before a clean one was finally found. During that time, I wasn’t even offered a complimentary coffee or water. After I left, the hotel double charged my credit card. While the duplicate charge was refunded, I received €21 less due to the exchange rate difference. So in the end, I paid even more for this poor experience — and no solution has been offered. That was the last drop to make me write this review. On top of that, the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere — which makes the high price even harder to justify. That said, I want to highlight the excellent support from guest relations manager Mattia. They handled the situation with professionalism and care, and arranged an upgraded room for me.Still, considering this was the second most expensive hotel in Berlin on that day, the overall quality, service, and location did not match the price. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The location of the hotel is great - right next to a beer garden/park. The food & drinks in the garden were just great and keenly priced, also a restaurant there that you could book in advance for breakfast/brunch. We had a room overlooking the zoo which was lovely. Bed was super comfy.

Overpriced for the room - it wasn't super luxurious and my husband stays in Berlin for work and was disappointed with the value for money. We opted out of breakfast due to the price and had some great experiences outside the hotel. Also we had to ask 3 times for the coffee machine to be mended/replaced - it didn't work dispensing warm rather than hot water.

The staff are excellent. From reservations and concierge to bar & restaurant staff - all so welcoming, efficient and professional. Top class service. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are amazing, the food was delicious.

This was a really lovely hotel in a quiet leafy suburb of Berlin, the facilities are modern and classy, a lot of thought into the design and look of the whole place, which works. There is the Spanish embassy next door so it did feel very safe in this area as well. A few minutes walk is a fantastic park with bars and food stations with a great atmosphere whatever time you go. There is also a restaurant there which serves amazing breakfasts. It seems to be small inside the hotel but actually there is a lot of space and it is cleverly designed. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Our room was modern and beautifully furnished, a v large bed, lovely bathroom with both a shower and a bath. A large fridge with lots of drinks to purchase, but v expensive. Overall the room was quite small but again was well designed so plenty of storage available. There was a large private balcony with furniture and decent views.

The coffee/tea machine was very basic and with a large fridge in the room it is disappointing that no fresh milk was available. For the nightly cost the room was a bit small.

    Lovely locationGreat staff

I gave them another chance after my first stay was so bad. Although Jan accommodated me, I was still pretty unimpressed with Berlin SO. Rooms are poorly designed. Fors the interior designer. It's just so bad. So so bad. Wardrobe light on constantly affecting a good night's sleep.Having to constantly ask for tra making facilities when they know I don't drink coffee. The bath panel.fellmon my foot and no one cake to help. I was hobbling for hours. Dirty kettle when tea facilities eventually arrived two hours after requesting. Communication between staff is poor and having to explain myself was just infuriating to my experience for zero stress.Joanna at reception is very stern and frosty. Even when I said hello to her. She needs to be retrained. You need to do better as you have some amazing staff members: Lucas,Phillip, the two Jans, the male Muslim cleaner - so so kind, mattias... Jana at breakfast and the inimitable Eric! Wow. Everyone can learn from him. Especially Joanna.

    Location

Kept me waiting at the barAngry staffUnfriendly Badly designed roomAir-conditioning never worked. Absolutely atrocious.Super expensive and not really 5 star.I liked Lucas, Mattias,Eric, Jana, Barman Jan, Philip, Jana...they really tried. No tea making facilities Very awkward room design.Every room had bathroom sinks so shallow it was impossible to wash without turning your entire room into a swamp.

Location by the Tiergarten and Zoo was great, right in the city but with a quiet relaxing feel away from traffic. Bar and terrace very comfortable & staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient for the Berlin 1/2 marathon start. Spa very relaxing. Good restaurant too. Private balcony with view over the zoo was nice to sit out on in the sun. Staff did us a lunch box and coffee for race morning breakfast.

Some of the room controls (external shutters) had a mind of their own.

Great location, perfect design, friendly staff, good breakfast and nice bar area, including terrace.

We wanted to rent two bicycles from 19:00 to 22:00 and would have been charged for a full day. I strongly recommend that you change this silly rule and introduce a reduced price for an evening rent or allow clients renting after 18:00 to keep the bicycles the following day.

Just a gorgeous boutique hotel, public area and bars restaurant decor is fabulous. Rooms are really stunning, well appointed and fabulously light and airy. The staff team is beyond helpful from even before step inside the property. Immaculate, polite and just a wonderful experience.

Highly recommend it for a city stay? Within the park, yet within reach of everything.Great food and bar and a sauna and pool. For everyone with kids you can directly enter the zoo from the hotel. Staff was super service oriented we had a perfect stay. I highly recommend it!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, and the rooms were beautifully designed. What truly stood out, was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, I felt genuinely cared for.

The only minor downside was that the rooms were a little bit aged, but overall, my experience was outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning!

The staff, the lobby, the breakfast

The furnitures in the room are of very bad quality. Lot of them were damaged. The floor included. There is no ‘view’ from our room as it was mentioned except if you step outside in the patio, you can have a partial view of the zoo.
