Grand Hostel Berlin Classic

Fantastic place to stay in Berlin! Very clean and cosy, you'll find everything you need!

Close to the subway and staff were friendly. The building is beautiful, and I didn't have time to enjoy the common spaces, but they looked very cozy

Some not so nice or clean guests, but it's not the staff's fault. Not enough toilets and showers

The Location was good, the room is beautiful and clean. The bed was ready before my arrival. So, all perfect. Also the room mates were so kind

The stuff only gave me the card, no instructions or information. I have to ask for everything. Also, they didn't provide me the wifi password, midnight I tried to use it and then I do not have it. But never mind, not a serious thing but I would be happy if they count for it

Location and staff are really good. The nearest U-Bahn is 100 metres only/ Rooms are bathrooms were cleaned everyday. Just across the road there is Rewe, where anything essential could be bought.

The breakfast could not be arranged at the property itself so I was asked to have it across the the road in a nearby bakery which had an arrangement with the hostel. No problem till this point since it was close by. As per the hostel, it was 'All you can eat' breakfast for 9.90 but at the bakery when I asked for a croissant after having a sandwich and some cornflakes, I was asked to pay extra. This happened when I was having my breakfast there for the last three mornings. This made me uncomfortable in going there again the next morning and I looked for some place else for my breakfast.

The basics were ok, the bed was clean, community are was ok, the price wasn't high.

Bunch of small things that wouldn't cost much but made the stay uncomfortable: - there were cabinets in the rooms but no padlocks, the customer should bring it, altough during booking you are not informed about it (you can buy them there of course)- in the community shower there is no shelf/chair, nothing in the cabins, it is pretty difficult not to get everything wet as you have to put them on the floor- for some reason the women toilets got closed on my floor during the morning, as you can't access the other floors, only option was the reception area- it is said that pets are not allowed, but during the evening a friend of the person at the reception left his/her dog there for some reason, the dog walked around the community areas during the whole evening, went to all the guest. The person at the reception never checked wether the dog disturbs any of the guest, which isn't great if you are not comfortable with dogs.

Everything was super clean and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was very very nice, had a really great moment there!

I really enjoed, the staff was kind and polite, they have a service londry and cantina, everything was clean enough. Good price

Is no about the hostel , I was in a comun bedroom sharing with a little bit strange people ,jajaja they snoring, smelling and noisy

The hostel was really nice and clean. It was super calm and perfect for staying overnight. Th staff was super friendly and welcoming and helped us in everything. I would highly recommend to stay here.

So! Yes the building is old, but it has all the facility you need in a hostel. I love their common lounge with large book shelves, they have 24 hr people you could ask a lot of things, even coffee! The staffs I met during the stay are all lovely people, they are very kind to reply my questions. As for the room, I got their cheapest one, however it’s spacious than most of the hostels! You could open your luggage with no problem, and the bed is comfortable on the harder side, I get some people complain about the pillow is too soft. Although I agree but I got no problem with it, they give you 2 pillows. The room is always warm, which I am super grateful as outside is -1 in Berlin. They have multiple shower and toilet in the share space.

I like the bed, they have a lot of place to put lockers. However, the only one thing I don’t like is the small light on the headboard. It’s too small and the angle is weird. That is my only complaint.

Staff was cold natured, not customer centricI forgot few things in my room, after checking out I realized and went back but they said they couldn't find my belongings. I am grateful they managed to find it at last, but only after few days. I seeked the help of their sister branch where a friend was staying to enquire and eventually I got my things,

Good common room. Supermarket very close by. Beds were very comfortable and spacious.

The bathroom could’ve used a bath mat and the receptionist was not the friendliest! Offered everyone else checking in a free drink and not me ? maybe it was something I said.

From the rooms that are facing the street you can hear the tram every 15-20 min. so that is not very suitable for people who are sensitive sleepers.

Sometimes even weird pol could be your roommate.My first night was really terrible. There was this dude who was jumping up and down at 3 am and them staring at me for 2 minutes while I was mid sleep. They throw him out the next day but imagine if something terrible hass happened that night.Security is really important .On top of that locks under the bed weren’t safe. Cuz anyone could opened the locks with a screwdriver.

Each bed had light & charger. New sheets and mattresses. You could open windows to get fresh air.

Timers on water and lights. Annoying. Bathroom light went out at 20 seconds...yes I timed. Hard to find the toilet paper in the dark. Showers had a push button. 20-30 seconds at a time. Poor shower head. Poor pressure.

Very close to U-bahn, nice beds.They enable heating to Mac which made the facilities really warm, including shower zones

Towels are paid separately, not much but it wasn’t mentioned that they are not included in price
