perfect location for relaxing stay , pet friendly with tennis court and swimming pool.
room service, skimpy on toiletries.
The staff was amazing. The room was very comfortable and clean and the view was absolutely stunning.
It was absolutely charming. Very comfortably decorated and beautiful flowers everywhere.
It is old, and some things are showing their age. The bed was harder than I would have liked and the walls are pretty thin.
view
Breakfast poor quality, food exposed to flies and place was warm no air conditioning in building. Some of the employees uncooperative.
The view is breathtaking! The Saint-Laurent is absolutely magnificent! The location of the property
Chose La Roche pleureuse as my Mother had very fond memories of her many stays there. Was IMMEDIATELY disappointed from the moment we set foot on the property. It is not even the shadow of its former greatness!Upkeep of the property: it is clearly neglected and falling into disrepair (paint, pathways, lawn, landscaping, comfort, convenience - no restaurant or food available)Room: bare minimum, very little comfortBed: queen size mattress on double sized base.Mattress: so thin felt every spring, uncomfortable Pillows: 2 and no extraSink: stainedShower: molded tiles (we chose not to shower)No air conditioning: only one small fan providedNo restaurant/dining room: there used to be one, now breakfast is barely served as the dining room wasn’t even lit.
The location was amazing
The bed was a little bit rough and the room was kinda warm
Nice and quiet location. Friendly staff and pool was good.
No A/C and no TV ,,,, restaurant was closed also.
Love the location, the water view, the gardens.Nice clean room, with everything we needed, no carpet (better).Good breakfast and friendly staff and dog friendly
Needed Warmer pool water, cause not so hot on the island.
cheap, vieux, humide,
Hotel rented our room to other guests and refused to issue a refund!
Dear Sir/Madam,Thank you for your immediate response in regards to my request to cancel our accommodation. I have followed your directives, I called the hotel and spoke to different gentlemen who keep saying the few same sentences, "that bookings have to be cancelled 5 days in advance". How could we do that when we booked 2 days prior? I tried to explain our situation and it is impossible to communicate with them, it is as if I was speaking to a robot. We went to Montreal to attend a funeral. Booking was done 2 days prior to the funeral (that is usually the case in such situations). It was near impossible to find accommodation due to the long weekend, but we looked in the area of St-Jean Port Joli and saw that "La Roche Pleureuse" was available. It said that it was 23 km from St-Jean Port Joli. On our return from Montreal, we realized that it was on the North coast on an island and that we had to take a ferry. It was not in the direction that we were going. We immediately called the hotel and explained our situation. They asked if we wanted to cancel and if they could rent our room. We were happy for them as they would not lose anything and immediately agreed and drove all night to return to New Brunswick. The next day we realized that they were charging us the full fee, therefore being paid twice for the accommodation. We consider this to be very unethical.Booking.com is a very professional organization and I find it inconceivable that they would deal with a hotel that has such poor standards and communication protocol. We therefore appeal to you for your help in getting a refund or raincheck and thank you very much in advance for your cooperation. Historic hotel with comfortable room. Friendly staff that's trying hard to bring it back to its glory days after years of neglect.
They still have work to do.
Didnt take the breakfast , some people told me the water wasn't drinkable, and the prices too high.
Some lights we're working, the toilet didn't flush it had a problem, the smell was bad in the room, smelled rotten, and the washroom smelled not fresh, was spider eggs on the wall, no clim air, and windows didnt lock, poeple could see us in the shower the blinds weere see through, the floors were sticky and the spare toilet roll had a brown spot on it as if someone touch it with some poo on there hands. Personnely i paid 270$ for it and i would like too get my money back. Not worth the money . The place needs to be inspected
Staff was nice.Location is fantastic.
Hotel has not been renovated in years. This is a 1-2 stars hotel
good view and a lot of amenities for the price you pay for.
a bit out dated but everything was true to the pictures online so we were expecting it.
The view was nice,
food was incredibelly expensive and the room was very humid
The place is nice with a beautiful view, the terrace and the pool are very nice, the rooms are clean and the people there very efficient.
Pool opens late and close early, plus to eat in place you need to reserve ahead of time and no vegetarian options.
The staff was really helpful
No AC and extra charge for my small dog. 30$ night
