    Pros +

    • LA Rocaille is not the Four Seasons, but for your hard earned money, it is a reasonable offering. Clean, comfortable beds, close to restaurants, groceries etc... I got what I paid for and a bit more.
    • Easy checkin and checkout
    • The Room was okay. The Jacuzzi was very good. Owners provided a microwave which was nice for us - we were eating in.

    Cons -

    • Not very clean
    • The mold and mildew smell was aggravating over time. Even though we were in a non-smoking room, the ventilation is shared so smoke mixed with moisture were yucky. I suppose it's unavoidable since there is a big body of water in the room. A table and two chairs for eating would have been nice. It is not an "Auberge/Inn" it's a Motel. Call it what it is. Misleading.
    • The rooms are outdated, which is what I expected from the reviews. I was disappointed with all of the dust under the beds (the rest was clean in the room). It takes a few passes with a duster and I would have had a much better opinion with just that. And I know the pool is closed but I went to see the pool area and it is so unkempt. A coat of paint and some weeding would do wonders. It's too bad.

Well located close to Mauricie National Park. Check in/check out was easy.

Good location. The room is very roomy. The staff is helpful.

I can hear the noise next door.

Very friendly staff. Located just off the highway. Clean and comfortable. Great shower, clean bed, spacious room.

Two entrances, front and back. Only one had a ‘don’t disturb sign’. But I wasn’t disturbed though.

Ok for a short stay, room and bed are big plus there are two sinks.

Room is old, ruined and no breakfast available.

    5AndyPosted on: 8-17-2025

It all seemed a bit run down.. keeping it open until it's over... no breakfast, no desk staff, no one around, just VERY clean rooms we used and then left... a bit spooky really... roads and grass showing abandonment ...

A personal touch, a hello... missing...

Perfect! The room was big and clean, the shower good and hot. We were very happy with our stay it was the perfect position to explore the park! I reccomend it!

Room was large. There were entrances from the outside and inside. It was nice for once to be on the first floor. The pool looked nice, but didn't have time to go in it. The person at the front desk was excellent! He was very kind and was able to help us with any need we could have, but he was able to speak English, which in a French speaking province and not being able to speak French, made the stay 100% better!

There was a huge hotel going up next to the little hotel we were in. Kind of took away from the aesthetics. The bed was a bit soft for me as I need a firmer mattress. The town stores closed at a very early time, So when we would get back from the park, it was difficult to either get food to eat at the hotel or to eat out somewhere. It also didn't help that we arrived on St. John the Baptist holiday, which was a 2-day holiday in Quebec, which most of the stores were closed! Thank God for McDonald's! Unfortunately, there was no complimentary breakfast.

The bed was very comfortable, everything was nice and clean, and the room had coffee.

    Nothing in particular.

Efficient check in, large room with reasonably comfortable beds. Coffee machine and large tv with good selection of channels. Air/heating unit worked well and was pretty quiet. Good breakfast next door at Au Coin du Rocher.

Bathroom was quite small and could have used a clothes hook on the back of the door.

The location is close to La Mauricie National Park. We arrived in the morning and the room was ready for us to check in. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk Christopher was very friendly and helpful! The cleaning crew was also very nice and polite!

The AC was a bit old and noisy.

I do not think there was breakfast included. I was not pleasantly surprised by the exterior but the inside was a little better. Clean but and well maintained but I did notice some mold and rust in the bathroom.

The mold and rust in the bathroom. Otherwise the place was fairly clean. It does not have the bells and whistles as others, but it is Shawinigan, so I was not expecting much. Would however consider decreasing the price as they were charging almost the same as other well known hotels.

Expectations were low for a last-minute motel booking, but we were delighted with both the spaciousness and comfort of our room. Staff was friendly and checking in/out couldn't be easier. Highly recommend.

Nice old style motel. Comfortable rooms for 4. Nothing fancy but perfect for a short layover. It has an outdoor pool that was quite nice and open until late.

We got a room that stunk of cigarette smoke. I can't believe that in 2024 there are still motels with stinky rooms like this. If I had known I would have not brought my kids to this place. It's really too bad because otherwise it's a decent place to stay to explore the region.

Rooms with comfortable beds, small but functional bathrooms, basic but new furniture. Motel-type design with a clean swimming pool.

Minor issue but the patio furniture and area around the pool could be improved.
