It has been a couple of years since I've been here and the place is really showing it's age. This is just a guess but it looks like new management has taken over and taken a step backwards when it comes to upkeep. Btw breakfast isn't included anymore.

Room was not cleaned on a two night visit, and maintenance shabby

The bar that is part of the hotel: very poor service. Was served wrong drinks - and one was completely undrinkable (chunks of salt fell into drink), but waitress ?forgot about us?, then charged us too much for drinks. Promised refund- have not received it

It has always been a favourite and nostalgic hotel for us

We have been going to Painters for years and are sad to see the slow decline in the building structure and maintenance.

Friendly staff. Great location.

Didn't get the room we booked which was a little disappointing. Hotel had shut down some of their lodges due to being late in the season.

This is a historical hotel and site. We enjoyed the atmosphere and comfort of this beautiful place.

The restaurant and pool were closed, however, seasonal conditions and maintenance are acceptable reasons.

Rooms are dated, but clean.

The view is incredible but that is it.

We have stayed here a few times and the resort has been continuously neglected the last 5+ years. It appears they have even stopped weeding/maintenance. The pool has been ¿not in service¿ for 3+ years. Whomever own this place now should be embarrassed.

The lodge needs to be renovated. Landscape needs a lot of improvement. We ate at the Legends restaurant and was not very impressed by the way the meal was prepared. Thought we over paid for what we had.

Extremely nice premises, perhaps the best hotel at Campbell River!

Furnishings seem dated. Our room was not as nice or looked similar to the type we booked as shown on website photos.

No air conditioning. Poor pillows.

The heating in the hotel pub did not appear to be working. I sat with my coat on the whole time

Location and overall vibe. Perfect level is accommodation

No pool. Wasn’t informed of this. We brought our kid for this reason.

The proximity to the sea. Lovely gardens, quiet, on-site restaurant. Good stopping of point when travelling from South Island to north.
