Located in downtown Montreal, this charming 19th century Victorian-style hotel is only minutes from the Peel metro station. Free WiFi is available. A cable TV, work desk and air conditioning are featured in each room at the completely nonsmoking Ambrose Hotel. Ambrose House & Cafe - SELF CHECK-IN GUESTHOUSE is ideally placed only a short stroll from the city's large underground shopping centers. The Bell Center, the Museum of Fine Arts and McGill University are also located only moments away. Please note that a number of students live on site.

Pros +

The manager was charming and seemed kind and after the theft incident, tried to help by calling to police.
Nice rooms, great location. Cafe below was convenient and had nice drinks.
Cozy hotel in a convenient location. Easy walking distance to many sights and close to the Peel metro station.

Cons -

The room next to us was under construction. Even our room seems underpainting. The room did not have a telephone! The window opened to the garbage beem. Our SUV car was stolen in front of Ambrose Hotel despite the assurance of safety from all employees.
Hand towels / face towels missing but other than that it was great.
Needed more pillos and towels but otherwise was fine.

The staff was amazing.. charming building in a cute neighborhood.

Not necessarily bad about hotel, just parking in general. If traveling with a car, the hotel has 2 spots that can be reserved for 30$ per night. However, they go quick so call ahead!
