Old Mill Motel

there was no maid service. the room only had supplies for 1 person there was 2. we had to share the towels. coffee maker, only 1 mug, no coffee, only additives

Nothing. The owner did not honour our reservation.

The owner did not honour our reservation which left us scrambling to ring somewhere to stay late in the evening. He was abrupt and rude. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!

There was a working fridge and microwave in the room.

Almost everything I didn't like. I've been to this motel in the past. The section that I stayed in this trip was run down. The wiring needs updating, as my blow dryer blew a breaker. Unfriendly owner. Nothing like the Old Mill used to be. TERRIBLE

The location is right by the lake and there is a great restaurant 17 opposite. The front desk staff were helpful and cheerful.

leaving, had a lot of trouble with wifi,I had made a reservation & cancelled and rebooked for a lower price through you and they did not honour the reduced price, the bed was comfortable though

the price was different than advertised on the booking, and there was no mention of extra charge for my little companion. The coffee machine/pot lid was broken so the filter didn't fit & coffee leaked all over, no hot water for the shower in the morning

location was great right on Lake Huron. It was bitter cold out however the room was warm and comfortable.

Arrived early, no one was in the office. had to wait 2 hours for someone to show up- Even though the sign on the office door said open. Step into room is too high making it difficult to get into. Bathroom: Toilet is not secure ready to fall through floor. Cracked ceiling paint falling off. Shower wall has cracks in it. and is probably leaking. caulking is pour. Door has large chips all along the bottom. Not sure what the black stuff on the wall is. Chair at desk was ripped and falling off. and you couldn't sit on it. Needs to be replaced.

I showered and slept there for 5 hours before heading out so I didn’t have a chance to see anything in the light of day. Rooms were old but clean enough.

Was very out dated with furniture and bed was horrible.

Great location. Everything else was good or reasonable except not being able to make the room dark at night.

No window covering on one of the windows left a security light shining into the room all night so brightly it seemed like day time outside all night and disrupted our sleep.

Easy and accessible

They gave us a room for one but I suspect I was charged for a room for two. They were confused when two of us showed up and put us in the small room - I should’ve investigated further at the time. Some guy was knocking at our door at night and morning looking for his friend….

The location was good because of good dog walking areas and water view was great .

The room was very dated, no covers on electrical outlets, took 20 minutes to get hot water , beds were very uncomfortable, only 1 chair— extremely slow wifi, tv was an exercise in futility- cable box was hanging on wall sideways so you had to get under it to turn it on . We requested a ground floor room due to mobility issues and we had an approximate 10 inch step to get from hallway to walkway to room then another 6 inch step up into room— none of which could be done with a mobility scooter or walker. When we pointed this out to the manager he suggested an additional room with steps almost as bad . We were charged over $200 for 1 night - 3 adults and a dog !

Nothing. We were relocated due to flooding through the roof.

We were relocated to another property 50 km away which meant back tracking for us. We originally booked at Old Mill for the location and the view. Hotel in Spanish was very poor quality for price.

The view was amazing! We could see the river and the dam from our room! The building has a lot of great character, and it's bright, making it feel like a safe place to stay on our travels. We walked along the riverbank and found a small beach area where a few people were enjoying an evening swim. There was also a communal firepit and a veranda that wrapped around the entire second floor.

The beds were not the comfiest, and the bathroom door didn't latch, but we enjoyed our stay regardless!

Lots of hot water and a great location.

It was very basic and very small. Everything seemed tired and the place needs updating.

Very peaceful after a long day of driving Comfortable, wonderful set up. It’s like a private apartment.

The stairs should have lights, especially the steps from one landing to the other.

We rented several rooms for family. Having grown up here, the location is why I chose this motel. New owner was very accommodating and is renovating as he has time. It's clean and cozy. Location near the water is peaceful.

Having grown up in this town, this motel was always one I liked for its location. We have stayed there twice now. It is old and somewhat outdated, but our rooms were clean, and the owner was very accommodating. He is renovating the rooms as needed.
