Pros +
- Excellent location, friendly staff.
- The amazing beach with mature palms and the excellent meals. Hotel had lots of authentic character.
- Lovely, charming hotel. Beautiful rooms, great location.
Cons -
- Major Hot water issue,we showered all 9 days with cold water. None of the Jacuzzi baths in suites work as well as coffee machine in room broken as well. Hotel is quiet dated and needs major repairs and renovations. They are milking the place based loc.
- Could have had music playing in restaurant, bar area seemed a tad dark and stale.
- They didn't let me put my dinner on the room one night, which was inconvenient as I didn't have my credit card or money handy.

location was great.water pressure was amazing.food was very good
bed was very hard, my family members had some problems with no safe keys. wish we would of had a place to gather together to play games that was not cramped into a small balcony
Everything was amazing. From the location, to the staff and services. Highly recommend it, although better to book it with an all-inclusive package as meals in the restaurant can be a bit pricey. The food was great anyway!
The only small problem we encounter was the water pressure, but we had this issue anywhere else in Jamaica so I don’t think it’s just this specific hotel problem. The first night I had no water pressure at all, the third night I had no hot water at all. Of course we managed and as I said we had this problem in other hotels I Jamaica not just this one.
The breakfast was OK but there could be a more entertaining within the facilities at night.
Ii was very relaxing and the staff was very friendly
The beach was great. The environment was comfortable
The building/room was dated, so was the furniture. The room had a poster bed with curtains not my taste. The room was dark due to the excessive paneling. The bathroom was clean but the water pressure was very low. Moving around the room felt like squeezing through a path. A balcony was included but the furnishing was unattractive with old discolored cushions.
Very lovely staff, restaurant and food is great. Nice beach, sunbeds under the palmtrees.Amazing too see the sunset.
Excellent location directly on the beach. Pleasant staff. Good food. Beach area was lovely, with natural shade from palm trees. Housekeeping was fine. Lovely room with an exceptionally comfortable bed.The hotel is well named as an ‘Inn’ as it has that relaxed informal atmosphere.I appreciated that we were given a quiet room as requested, upgrading the room so that they could fulfil the request. It’s not too influenced by American culture as a few of the other Negril hotels are, so tipping was discrete and there were no pointless TV screens in the restaurant, which pleased us.
Nothing significant.
Located on the best part of 7-mile beach, The palm trees offer plenty of shade, and access to the sea. Food was just okay, but the croissants were excellent. Live 'jazz' music was bland.
Wifi was terrible.
Excellent location, clean and staff very friendly
Can’t fault our stay at the Charela Inn
Charela's was so relaxing it's like a retreat, you hear the birds singing in the morning sitting on my balcony with my coffee it's so quiet and peaceful, dining staff was great, enjoy breakfast the most walking on the beach or just lounging under the coconut tree such tranquility.
The winding stairs up to my room. Otherwise my room was nice looking over the pool and garden.

We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at the Charela Inn! Our room was extremely spacious, with a canopy bed and a spa bathtub. We had a private balcony that overlooked the beach, which had many palm trees for shade. We ordered room service for our breakfasts & ate many dinners in the upscale restaurant. The on-site restaurant serves food from a local farm & everything we ate was absolutely delicious. The property has a dog named Kush, who we enjoyed seeing walking around. We also made a new friend, a young tiger cat who we called Charlie. We spent umany nights hanging out with Charlie on the beach. This property is located right on the beautiful Seven Mile Beach. We relaxed on the beach during the days drinking Piña Coladas (which were served right to our beach chairs). Overall, we had an AMAZING trip & the Charela Inn exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be visiting again!
Nothing! We loved everything!
My kids and I had a fabulous time at the Charela celebrating my daughter's Sweet 16 and my son's graduation. One word describes the Inn - from the grounds to the reception. to the rooms, to the people, to the location - spectacular!.The staff at the property went above and beyond to accommodate our every request and to ensure that we were having a wonderful time. The access and views from the beachfront rooms were absolutely stunning/breathtaking .The owner, Mr. Daniel was frequently on-site to greet his guests and oversee improvements. What a charmer! While we were there, we evem noticed renovations being made to enhance the guest experience. We can't wait to get back!
I enjoyed the room and the staff. Very peaceful and beach was lovely
Room was good, beach was very close, hotel is very cute and quaint.
Shower needs to be replaced, food could use some improvement.
Food was very nice.Jazz band on Thursday and Saturday was excellent.
To have noise control rules in Negril especially at night would be the right thing. SUBWOOFER can deliver over long distances very loud sounds, painful levels of noise that may lead to significant harm.
The best part of this property is the amazing staff and beach plus the shade with trees on the beach. The plantings throughout are very pretty. The restaurant and service are excellent. Most guests have been coming here for twenty plus years — a sure sign of how devoted people are to the place. And the guests are all friendly and considerate. It’s a peaceful, low-key resort. Twice a week there is live music with fantastic musicians that you can listen and dance to during dinner. It’s a lot of fun. Merylyn, one of the massage therapists on the property, is kind and gave me the best massage of my life. You can bring your own food and drink on the beach, but they also have drink and food service. You can also bring floaters for the water and people often leave theirs at the conclusion of their stay so there’s a communal pile you can borrow from.
The pillows in the bedroom were terrible: very lumpy and thick and I had a neck ache all week. The resort should provide better quality pillows. The bathroom mirror was old and it was very difficult to see in it. No soap dishes — kind of strange. Used a washcloth under the soap, but it’d be nice to have a soap dish. The fluorescent lights were harsh and would be better if they used warm lights instead of cool ones to keep the effect softer.
Hospitality is key at Charela. The garden view is beautiful. The spacious rooms are authentically appointed with comfortable beds,Wi-Fi, cable tv.
I think the menu could be a little less European.
