Pros +
- The overall hostel was clean and had the essentials.
- I specifically chose this hostel because it was within walking distance of my daughter's/grandchildren's location. So in that sense, the location was perfect for me. For someone coming as a tourist, the location MIGHT not be optimal. Also, it was very hot in September, so the AC in my room was a welcome respite at night. My daughter, living on the same block, had two power outages (which is still a chronic problem 6 years after Hurricane Maria) but the hostel seemed unaffected.
- The good connections that the hostel offer and propose in the town and the group chat made by the hostel for connect and hang out people
Cons -
- The metal beds were squeeky and you could clearly feel the middle bar underneath. I asked my other hostelmates and they said the same. The actual room itself didn't have a functioning lock. I had to explore on my own in the hostel to find the kitchen and become acquainted. While the contactless check in and out can be convenient, they're missing a connection here. There was also no community building or events or simply suggestions to connect lodgers.
- Staff never read nor answer to messages
- The mattress was not the most comfortable. The quietness was affected by roommates. Most nights that was okay, but staying in a hostel can be hit or miss.
