Sun Mountain Lodge is an iconic PNW lodge located in Winthrop, WA. Guidelines are: Only dogs 75 lbs. or less are accepted (Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are excluded). Only Patterson Lake Cabins are pet friendly. Guest will be required to sign a pet waiver form at check-in at the Front Desk and Front Desk will authorize (not charge) a $250 pet damage fee. The $75 fee is in addition to the room rate. Tax is additional to the fee. Pets (dogs are only pets allowed) are only allowed at Patterson Lake Cabins.

- The surroundings
- The lobby and little nooks were so welcoming and cozy. Warm holiday feel.
- Excellent views in every direction.
Cons -
- We found a lot of ants in the room.
- The wall in the bathroom next to toilet not clean. I mentioned and it wasn't addressed. Creamer for the lobby coffee was little individual-sized creamers, which is wasteful and they always ran out. The heated pool & main hot tub were not working.
- The front desk is not adequately staffed to take care of guests. We never could get help by calling the hotel either on our way there or from our room. Dining room is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We ended up driving to Winthrop for dinner.
