The restaurant. The hotel decore.. the staff's dedication to excellence, respect..
It's location in the center of Middlebury was wonderful, right next to the co-op and within walking distance of many charming aspects of town. Staff was friendly and delightful.

Cons -

I couldn?t get the heat to adjust the first night.
Wish there could have been covered entry, due to torrential rain..
Our shower didn't drain, the room was musty even though it was clean. We weren't given a room in the actual inn but in the 'motel' out back (called the Annex but not clear in the reservation process).Loud deliveries next door.Disappointed for the price.

Prime location in downtown Middlebury. Walking distance to shops and Middlebury College campus. Free and ample parking adjacent to hotel. Hotel is older but very well maintained.

As the hotel is older ("historic"), bathrooms are small with minimal counter space adjacent to sinks. Air conditioning is via window units, which are louder than central units. Ours was also somewhat quirky.
