    Pros +

    • Awesome restoration/update to a old building in downtown. Not lacking much if anything.
    • We loved this quaint hotel. Our room slept 6 people so we only had to rent one room for our family. Very clean. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay there again if we were passing through that way.
    • We loved the hospitality and decor the most

    Cons -

    • someone had enabled "parental controls" on the TV and the staff was unable to or didn't get around to resolving the issue. Also, room curtains need to block out more light, especially in the AM.
    • Nothing we didn¿t like.
    • The gentleman at checkin was not at the desk. It took him a while to respond to the bell and we he did he finally did get there he brought a less than hospitable attitude. The only other thing was much to my husband's dismay there was no coffee pot in the room nor hand soap.

Amazing rooms with better renovations of an older property than you see in newer and larger properties. Everything was immaculately clean and well designed. Despite the last minute booking with late arrival and having young kids, the hotel took great care of us. It's central to the picturesque town with beautiful scenery and a nice hiking/running trail up the nearby mountain. As we love the fall season, we really appreciated the Halloween decorations. My kids' greatest regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

The rustic look, room, boutique and atmosphere. Were great. The morning checkout staff were wonderful.

The gentleman at checkin was not at the desk. It took him a while to respond to the bell and we he did he finally did get there he brought a less than hospitable attitude. The only other thing was much to my husband's dismay there was no coffee pot in the room nor hand soap.

My brutal honest opinion of the property is what I would call the combination of 1925 meets 2025. Check in was hassle free even though we were very delayed in arriving. I would change the front desk to look more like the 1920s version. The exposed ductwork and pipe add to the atmosphere. The room was just the right size for the price. Love the big shower. The courtyard was a quiet place to relax after driving for 6 hours. The batteries in the tv remote were almost dead, so holding it a foot from the screen was annoying. It was 11:30 at night so I was not asking the front desk for new ones. The bed was super clean and comfortable. I was asleep in no time. Check out was just as easy. I know we can’t pick our neighbors but the Latin cafe connected to the hotel behind the jail cell door was not what I was looking for as a brunch option. There were other options nearby though. If I am in that area I would definitely stay again.

    Dead batteries in TV remote

Very nice hotel. Great location to where I needed to go. Rooms were very clean. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Will return.

    No microwave in room.

Loved the feel of the hotel! The staff were super friendly and helpful. It was within walking distance to a coffee shop and thift store! The best was the on site Mexican resturant located on the main floor! I would 100% stay here again!

The breakfast options could have been better but at least they gave you some options. The muffins they served were very good and fresh!

This hotel is an absolute GEM!! This is the highest star hotel you will find in this area. The staff is over the top kind and wanting to provide the best possible stay. The rooms are incredibly clean, the beds are very comfortable, breakfast is free and brought straight to your door in the morning and the Molton Brown bath products are the cherry on top! Parking is super convenient, the restaurant downstairs is probably the best food in the county AND the price is incredibly reasonable! I can't say enough good things.

Nothing, I love staying here! Such a great hotel, great location. Hotel has all the amenities you will need. The cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere are top notch.

We always enjoy our stay at the Western Front. The location is perfect when visiting family in Wise and Abingdon. The staff are always courteous and professional and each room that we have used has been perfectly clean and spacious. We love having the restaurant dining option right downstairs and the coffee shop nearby in the morning.

the weather - it was rainy with flash flood warnings during our visit in July- but that, of course, is not within the hotel's control!

Such a fun hotel in a neat small downtown area. The room options were great for 3-5 people! We will definitely be back when traveling to the area!

Good location and very clean !Very nice staff !

We booked 2 rooms through app BUT we arrived and they only had one room for us. We made it work with extra pillows and blankets and one person slept on floor. Not sure if the error was on the app side or hotel

Due to a change in circumstances we needed to check in early. The staff was very accommodating.

It was a one night stay, since we got back to the hotel so late we just went straight to bed. We left early in the morning so we didn't spend a lot of time in the room.

It is centered in downtown St Paul. Parking is really convenient. Close to several restaurants and fast food. The hotel is even connected to a restaurant which is a plus! The room was very clean and smelled nice. I really love the creaky floors and country look. The bed was very comfortable and there were extra blankets and pillows if needed. We have stayed her twice now and each time is perfect!

We had more than two people in our room (total of 5). Breakfast is free for just two people so when we asked for 5 total, we ended up having to pay for 3 extra breakfast items. I really wouldn’t consider it “breakfast” but it was a nice gesture. It consists of a juice, fruit (like an apple) and a prepackaged muffin. I just wish it was more accommodating for the number of people and not just two.
