- The guests and staff woke up to no water. A main line broke in the night, putting the entire town out of water for several hours. The front desk and breakfast staff are to be commended for making the best of the situation.

- Van Horn offers very few restaurants. Some listed were out of business, 1 was so behind on filling orders guests were politely turned away, leaving only 1 fast food and 2-3 convenience stores. Many hotels, many travelers and almost no place to eat.
