Gulfway Motel and Restaurant

Close to beaches; breakfast available; on-site restaurant

"Hallway" from front desk to restaurant narrow and cluttered with storage items. Please provide at least hand broom and dustpan in rooms for guest to sweep up sand they track into space (floor got gritty and I 'borrowed' broom from maid 1 day).

It was clean, convenient, and the staff were very nice. The air conditioner, was good and clean. The bathroom, microwave, and television were in good shape. Beds good, and clean. Just out-dated.

It is an old motel, but clean.

Roaches in the room one of my grandsons slept on the floor and woke up with a bug inside his ear deep

This looks like the Bates Motel it was very disgusting there was roaches there was rust coming out of the shower head it was just very disgusting

Do not go here unless you are single and you have nowhere else to go

Very quiet and the kitchen makes great pizza and brings it to your room.

No cable TV but everything else was great

It was closer to the coast than I expected. Was able to access coastal areas easily.

The restaurant was limited due to the virus and we were not told this prior to booking.

The TOWELS were clean and fresh. When I arrived the clerk noticed I had signed up for smoking rooms, and quickly and politely changed all 3 rooms to non smoking.

No soap of any type. When I pushed the front of the soap dispenser the entire thing came off in in my hands. The air conditioner was turned off, and it took almost an hour for our room to cool down enough for sleep.

First room, bedding was dirty. Lots of "debris" on the sheats, after i removed the cover. I got a new room. Dirt not quite as obvious. Sheats had stains, smelled sweaty. Most likely not changed after last guest. Found several long hairs in bed. Disgusting

It was spacious and quiet and had a very good fridge and a microwave

No coffee pot and the restaurant was not open. The furniture was old. The bathroom window did not have a latch on it and it was see through

The owner stayed in contact with me as I traveled. He gave me his number so I could reach him upon my arrival at 2am.

The staff were so nice

It could use some landscaping and removal of outdoor clutter.

The people at the Gulfway are so nice and accommodating. It is an older place but the rooms are kept really clean and the asian food at the restaurant is spectacular. I have now been to this quiet hidden hideaway close to the beach a few times and will return regularly.

The only downside is that you have a $50 deposit on check in but they are prompt in crediting you when you check out.

The food was FANTASTIC. Was very surprised to find such a variety of tastes. Nice room, clean, just a minute or two from open, clear beach.

Mattress was a little hard, but that may be just us.

They had everything we needed for a Great stay with our pets. The pool stays clean with extended hours which was fantastic & refreshing

The customer service was excellent! Room was clean. Location was great for what we needed.

The remote to control the temperature in the room was confusing.

The staff was great. The rooms were very clean and the a/c was amazing.

It’s quiet and the owners are very nice. Clean rooms with all you need. Food was great and they cook to order. Chow Mein was fantastic. Beds were a tad too firm but I slept great, and the sink in the bathroom was not draining good. Otherwise, great water pressure and a little gem on the beach! I’m sure we will be back soon. Nice clean pool too!
