    • Location was great but their breakfast was the best!! We loved trying their green chili grits.and blueberry French toast. Nice extras in the lobby, tasty fresh fruit water with different pastries and wine in the evenings. Thank you for a beautiful stay.
    • Very comfortable feel. Many little spaces indoor and outdoor to hang out. Helpful and pleasant staff. Great communication and follow up from staff
    • The staff was outstanding. They were so accommodating . They made you feel so welcoming. I would love to go back.

    Cons -

    • The ice machine was far away from the room-lol
    • It’s Adult only, but we understand!! It was nice and quiet!!
    • The river was low, so there wasn’t much access to moving water. It was very hot outside, so a pool or dip in the river would’ve been welcomed.

This property is beautifully maintained along the Guadalupe River. The staff member who worked on Saturday evening was exceptionally accommodating and friendly. Happy Hour featured wine, beer, and a variety of snacks. The breakfast was absolutely delightful and included in our stay. The location is perfect, walking distance to shops, Gristmill, Gruene Hall. I truly appreciated the thoughtful touches that made this place stand out! We will definitely return! (Adult only property)

It’s Adult only, but we understand!! It was nice and quiet!!

The landscaping and interior decor were stunning. The entire property was spotless, inside and out. We stayed in the Homestead, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on.

The river was low, so there wasn’t much access to moving water. It was very hot outside, so a pool or dip in the river would’ve been welcomed.

It was really nice. I was disappointed in the Service. No one to help really do anything any time we needed Service or help it was differently NOT professional or helpful. This is NOT a HOTEL it’s a small Inn. Be prepared to make all your own arrangements the people in the office other than checking you Expect nothing else. 3 nights $1000 was it worth it? NO if I wanted to haul bags up and down stairs zero service I didn’t use the breakfast. As a Business woman I was working the whole time each time I went to the office for local information I was pointed to the wall of cards and handed 2 numbers. The roaches in the Rooms and mouse droppings were extra Unwanted and No where to get anything to drink or eat in the evening a fridge Zero Drinks in it. So it’s NOT a HOTEL and Nothing about it was a Retreat the 100+ down to the river They had Tubes we had to BLOW them UP and then dragged them 100+ downstairs to swamp like area no where to enter safely and then have to go back up with the tubes. When it comes to service ZERO I asked for the Name on the Receipt to be corrected for Business couldn’t even get that done.

The scenery, river access in the back, pool table, library, themed room (The Shady Lady), food was great. Got to see a little baby deer ?on the front porch.

More counter space in the bathroom and hooks to hang towels on the back of the bathroom door or walls. Also same in shower need hooks.

Very lovely Inn. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was great!

It is a bit pricey. There was a big crack in the ceiling in our room.

The place is beautiful and cozy. The room was perfectly clean and very comfortable. I live the balcony with view to the riverIt’s right on the center and walking distance to everything that we wanted to visitThey put water and pastries at the libby every day and also wine on the afternoons

I didn’t love the breakfast but it was ok

    10JamesPosted on: 3-6-2023

Staff were excellent. Location could not be better. Breakfasts really good. Somewhere would definitely return, and many guests we met had been coming again and again over some years

There was nothing negative about our experience at all. All good.

Unbelievable! Absolutely beautiful setting overlooking the river. Wonderful hotel with themed rooms, we stayed in 'wild west' and the room had quirky references to this theme, including a saddle as a toilet roll holder. Bathroom had a copper slipper bath tub. Loved it all!Fabulous facilities including the outdoor 20 seat hot tub.We only stayed one night during the holiday season but wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely has the wow factor

    Nothing. All fabulous

    10DebbiePosted on: 10-28-2022

    9BrianPosted on: 9-14-2022

Perfect location within walking distance of everything around Gruene

Felt it was a bit overpriced for the room size but everything about the hotel was nice

    10MarthaPosted on: 7-30-2022

Breakfast, the jacuzzi and the complimentary happy hour!

    9AlexPosted on: 7-26-2022

Superb rooms, spotlessly clean fabulous location. Thoughtfull ice water and snacks available

Breakfast was appaling. Some greasy cremated bacon dried up quiche buscuits and gravy. No bread available, some eggs would have been good. Hardly the 'chef prepared' breakfast they advertised on arrival.

    10RickPosted on: 4-29-2022

Location , the hotel and views were exceptional. Quant, quiet, fun and beautiful. Breakfast by Garrett was excellent . Cinnamon rolls especially, along with frittata. All staff were superb, friendly, knowledgeable. Liz, Karen, and Didi.

Only that they were out of bar soap for a day, no big deal though to use liquid soap. Train horn noise in morning was a bit of an issue but that’s just part of historic Gruene.

    10GabrielPosted on: 4-16-2022

Excellent location. Quite, clean and comfortable room. Just down the street from Gruene Dance Hall and the shopping district. Breakfast was good and hotel was close to other restaurants.

    10StephenPosted on: 12-30-2021

My wife loved the look of the place and went on and on about postcards and the like. The staff was friendly and the location was great for shopping and Gruene hall. 5 stars

    Nothing at all.
