Downright Austin, a Renaissance Hotel

The facilities offered at the hotel were lovely, especially the heated pool and gym! It was the perfect stay for a girl's trip, within range of most things we wanted to do in Austin. The staff were very helpful and friendly; I also enjoyed the convenience of MorningBird (coffee/ snacks) in the lobby.

Everything felt perfect until the last day when the temperatures dropped. I was wondering why I was coughing and sneezing more when I realized that the windows were leaking water all around the edges. Two windows were covering two walls of the room, one of them facing the TV & other electronic appliances. Seems like a health/safety hazard as this wet the walls, carpet and anything basically below or around the area.

The location is very good. The hotel environment, the room and pool bar are really cozy and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Would be great to have safe in the room. Other than this everything was excellent.

Very stylish and unique hotel. Friendly staff. Confortable sheets and bed. Silence is king.

Although the breakfast was included in the reservation, every day I have to pick up a “cortesy” card.

The location. The spaciousness of the room. The decor. The quality of bed.

My experience left me quite bewildered—mostly due to one front desk staff member's attitude, which was quite rude. I was honestly stunned.The day before our departure, I approached the front desk to settle the bill early, hoping to avoid any last-minute rush before our morning flight. Imagine my surprise when the agent curtly informed me, "No, you cannot Sir. Come back tomorrow morning to settle the bill upon checkout. That is the way it is." As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I was taken aback. I can't say I've ever encountered a hotel that refuses early payment.What really stung was the complete lack of politeness—no smile, no empathy, just a rather cold command. It felt more like a reprimand than a service interaction.The next morning, I went back to check out, only to be greeted by a different agent who casually mentioned that, because I booked through a third-party service, my bill had already been settled using the card I used to make a booking. Confused, I realized I had no recollection of any pre-payment. Later in the day, I found out the charge had been processed on the incidental card I provided at check-in, which was not the card I intended to use for payment.

minor, no curtains in the room felt weird, I know there is reflective films on the windows but I felt exposed.

Downright is too cute, love the design and style. The staff were professional, helpful and very pleasant. The hotel was clean, gym is well equipped, beds were comfy, AC got nice and cold, but our favorite amenity was def the pool! Poolside drinks were delish. Had a great stay and will stay again!

Parking is pricey!

Pink. Everything is pink, made me want to vomit. Also they charged more than the final price listed

I love the pink color theme all through the hotel making it pretty. I liked that the gym is open 24 hours. I wish the pool was open till midnight but it closes at 10 pm. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The coffee shop by the lobby is good but a little expensive. The swim club restaurant needs more vegetarian options.

Nice clean rooms. Good location

Fridge was not cold. Room was not ready at the 3pm checkin time (had to wait till 4pm). Power went out at night (from 3am-4am). Using the parking garage is $50/night so you have to find street parking nearby to get something cheap, but it’s limited.
