The hotel itself is located in a very desirable area of Germantown. Which made it all the more disappointing once we saw the condition of the facility itself. This is the worst Marriott branded hotel I have ever seen.

On arrival at the property, we could clearly see screens that were partially torn from windows. That was the first clue that this Marriott location might have some issues. On the way to our room, we saw dingy, dirty, hallways. Carpeting that was stained and filthy, and visibly damaged doors just to name a few. When the room door was opened, it reeked of a heavy smell of bleach. Upon further inspection, we observed what appeared to be black mold in the bathroom area amongst other issues. As for the room itself, though spacious, it was quite dated. To the credit of the front desk manager, she took our concerns seriously. There was no dismissive tone on her part whatsoever. She remained pleasant and professional. And offered any assistance to us that she could. In our opinion, this hotel does not live up to the standards of the Marriott brand. It needs to be immediately closed for renovation.

The staff was exceptional.
