    Pros +

    • The hotel was clean and modern with a polite and helpful staff. It was well located if you are visiting the various universities, though visiting the South Side was a chore.
    • Layout, quality of rooms and service.
    • The staff is what made the hotel so fantastic. The girl at the checkout was amazing. The bar and restaurant staff were beyond great. In room dining personnel were fantastic.

    Cons -

    • We found it odd that there was no clock in the room. Also there were no USB ports in the room, which is very unusual today.
    • Very expensive parking, especially since there?s a better option directly across the street. The rooms are nice but a lot of rooms (like mine) look out onto a wall or window of super close, adjacent building.
    • Awful smell, water did not appear clean/safe to drink, hidden charges for pets, no main lobby; star rating of this hotel not reflected in experience

The staff was extremely helpful in sharing some places to see as well as eat. The room was beautiful and very clean. Overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely be back.

Most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed at. It was very clean, the service was impeccable and the food was fresh and delicious. If you want luxury and excellent service try the Oaklander!

The Hotel location was perfect for doing either a University of Pittsburgh or a Carnegie Mellon University campus tour. Close to Phipps Conservatory, The Carnegie Museum of Natural Sciences and Arts. Very easy to walk to multiple attractions.

Room wasn¿t ready at 7pm when we got to the hotel.... when it was finally ready the toilet was clogged and took until 19:30 pm to fix

Being so close to the Cathedral of Learning.

We had a horrible time with the hotel charging multiple fees up to over $700. Additionally, I ordered soup from room service, it arrived in a "cardboard container" and eventually seeped through. I was charged $50 for the clean-up.

Room decor and layout were very nice. The shower was excellent.

I wish the room had a refrigerator that I could use, it was a minibar and there was no place to put a desert I had purchased that needed to be refrigerated.

    Location, staff, cleanliness.

Pretentious: decor & lighting are impractical, got annoying. Expensive in-room minibar: opposite of luxury. Very expensive bar & restaurant with pretentious food. A friend staying there at the same time had a noisy night the management did nothing about.

    Location, staff, style.

Housekeeping needs a little work but overall a great hotel, staff, location.
