    Pros +

    • Historic old building , up dated, Rooms excellent, food the same, staff went beyond. Reminded me of a few places I stayed in England.
    • The History
    • The room was victorian style with poster beds, comfortable chairs and plenty of room. There is a restaurant and bar as you enter so after a long drive, it was nice not to have to leave hotel for dinner.

    Cons -

    • We did not get the room we booked. We booked a room with a king bed, got a queen size. The place was all booked so no chance of changing room.
    • The blinds needed to be repaired
    • Furnishings are shabby and need a good scrub. Soft furnishings are just worn out. Some had a kitschy vibe, but some were just tired.Window blinds in sitting are did not roll up, so no view. Bed was very high, with no step stool. Whirlpool tub was a nice surprise but wasn't clean, so I couldn't take advantage of it. Light switches were hard to find. Two dead bolts, but the door frame was cracked so the upper one was difficult to use. Television in the sitting room did not function.I am an older woman who was traveling alone. Third-floor room, no elevator, and no offer of help with luggage that had to be hauled up two very long and narrow flights of stairs. Electric outlets were hard to reach, so charging electronics was a challenge.

The historical building is beautiful. Lots of parking. Restaurant and Brew Pub onsite. Furnishings are quirky. Lots of closet space. Mini fridge was cold! Breakfast was grab-abd-go which was fine for my needs.

Nice setup of coffee, juices, fruit, yogurt, muffins, and health bars, clean and simple. ...excellent restaurant downstairs.

    Nothing to add here.

    Architecture, location, room size.

We were called the day before by a rep who said there would be no breakfast service on Christmas morning, so we planned ahead and brought our own food. We were going to make coffee with the in-room coffee maker, but when we went to use it, it was missing the tray that holds the coffee pouch, so we were not able to use it. Upon vacating the premises we told housekeeping about the issue. She said she did put out the breakfast service, but that we missed it. Staff needs to communicate better with each other and then clearly translate accurate info to guests. We stayed in the same room we’d been in 2 years previously and found that nothing had been updated. The rug was quite worn and had some food crumbs from previous guests. The tv and bathroom fan were in poor condition. The toilet needs to be reset or have floor bolts tightened as it’s somewhat rocky.

    Unique experience with comfortable accommodations.

Zero hot water at 7pm after returning from a full day of hiking.

    It was okay

Room was dirty, wallpaper was peeling. It was a little outdated.

Beautiful inn. Rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Large comfy beds. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We ate dinner at the restaurant inside Altland House; food was delicious.

It was quiet, even with a restaurant downstairs.

    Small tv.

Very quaint. Older, antique with history. Beautiful interior rooms and each one different!

Beds not very comfortable. Four of us in four different rooms all had same complaint. Otherwise lovely place.

Standard breakfast, nothing thrilling, but good.

Shower arm not installed properly and made a shower completely unreasonable.

Pretty clasic free standing bath tub (not used) and pretty canopy bed.Had a nice diner in restaurant even while arriving late.

No one there when leaving for check out.Credit card did not work in restaurant.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was beautiful and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The room temperature control worked great. The location was perfect. The food was excellent. All in all a great place to stay!

The beds were really high off the floor, but a stool was provided, so it worked out well. I think the high beds would be difficult for elderly people though.

    Pleasant staff including the chef.

TV is tiny but you do not spend much time wat hing it.

    Location, historic building

The shower. Water pressure was awful and took about 5 minutes to get warm water.

    8AmandaPosted on: 11-3-2023

The bar restaurant was fantastic! They had live music and it was great food. The room decor was great.

The beds were super high for my mom and aunt in their 70's to get into. They had a stool but it wasn't stable. I would suggest they get a step ladder or lower the beds.
