River Place Hotel

Location. Friendliness of staff. Quality of amenities.

It’s NOT the fault of the hotel, but in the year 2025 this location in Portland OR has gone downhill. Guests wake early to strange homeless people shuffling around the grounds.…and again.….no fault of the hotel, the the guests next door kept smoking weed.

Restaurant and bar were good.

A very poor Quality, Price proposition (too expensive for a room that is dated and in need of refreshing.

Cleanliness, room size and furnishings

Front desk staff was not super friendly or accommodating. They weren¿t the worst but definitely not the best at interacting with guests.

The discount we got when we left.

Location is full of homeless and the hotel locks doors at night due to so many. Didn't feel safe parking our truck on the road. Bath tub didn't drain after waiting 45 minutes for maintenance to fix it when we checked in. Not enough writing space

All staff was very helpful. The hotel extremely clean and super comfortable. A perfect girls weekend getaway.

Spacious room. Incredible view. Exceptional staff

Mini fridge was not working, a minor inconvenience for my short stay.

The hotel was great. The room was well designed and furnished and definitely surpassed my exceptions. I was happily surprised when I opened the door.

The only one thing that I pointed out to the staff of my checkout was the ants coming in from the bathroom window on to the floor and some random strays on the bed. Not a deal breaker for me at all.

The style of the furiture, tones, and settings.

1. was double charged for hotel fee; 2. neighborhood not safe to walk around

good location, clean, nice

big crime vibe, made me use their $50 parking, locked front door

I didn¿t know parking was only valet that you have to pay 50 a night

The atmosphere was excellent! Interior design was beautiful and unique. Excellent lighting.

The location is great being by the waterfront park. It is close enough to downtown to walk to the restaurants there.

Staff was very accommodating. Room was clean. We had room with water view that was nice. Bed was comfortable we stay at 3 other hotels this weekend on our trip I¿d say this bed ranked last but not bad by any means.

Parking is an issue for most hotels in Portland. Fee to park. Interior of room and bathroom is not what we saw on photos online. That was a major disappointment! Decor & bathroom needs updating.

Every one of the hotel staff was so friendly and helpful. I've never had such a personal experience. The hotel was beautiful and the view from my room was amazing! The bed was so comfortable. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and for the price this was best

Parking

The room had an incredible view. The front desk was professional and hospitable and the bellman were more than friendly and helpful.

The room had not been cleaned properly. Found pretzels on the floor from previous guest. We lost a computer plug and looked under the bed. YIKES! It was filthy and had not been cleaned in some time. Suggest you get an under the bed vacuum.

Location to EVERYTHING we needed

Parking was expensive and we were not offered the same service as guests paying through the hotel itself.

Location, location, location. Right on the water with lots of shops, restaurants and activities near by. Staff very helpful.

Staff made us feel welcome. Helpful and friendly. Hotel and rooms are inviting and clean. Had always wanted to stay there, they did not disappoint. Great location!!

Rooms were decorated weirdly. Also the elevators had lots of issues over the weekend

Beautiful room and setting

Poor elevator service lack of five star service employees apologize for having to wait five minutes for elevator no available stairs to first floor only ice on fourth floor. I would have to think twice about staying there again overpriced for what I got
