New York Marriott Downtown

Excellent location

Clean, nice modern rooms. Comfortable beds. Enough amenities for the family. There is a burger type pub in the hotel which had amazing burgers. There is also a Starbucks on sight which isn't my favorite but was convenient if you need a coffee. Parking isn't bad for NYC there are two garages, one on either side of the hotel. I noticed a valet type service after I already self parked next door not sure but I believe they use them as well just handle the nonsense for you. All in all It was a good experience.

I arrived at 1:30pm granted check in wasn't until 4:00pm. They could not check me in and seemed like they had a hard time getting the rooms ready in time. I was offered the ability to check my bags and to be called once a room was available. The issue with the car park is once it's in the garage that's it until you leave so you better grab everything you need out of your car. We went to the 911 memorial right up the road then to freedom tower. After that to the pub on sight of the hotel. It was now 4:10pm. Went to get my room and it was still not available. After waiting another 10 or so minutes past that they had found me a room. Not a huge issue but the only negative thing I could find with the hotel. Other than that it was beautiful and would definitely stay again.

I just stayed there because its location served my needs.

One of the staff at the front desk was less than hospitable. I had asked for robes when we checked in and re-iterated that request a few hours later-no robes in spite of assurances that they would send them up. But the worst was late that evening, I went down to the desk to express frustration with the fact that the hotel had not provided bathroom necessities that any hotel would provide-a shower cap, qtips, cottonballs, etc. desk manager said I need to ask for those things when I checked in. Really?? Not the first thing I think about when I check in to a hotel. He insisted that the Marriott did not provide those niceties but if I stayed at the Ritz, they would be provided. This I found rude and unbelievable. As I said to my travel companion, I’ve stayed in dumps that provided shower caps, etc. our hotel room cost $880 a night! I never want to stay at a Marriott again!

The location was perfect for our needs - away from the crowds! And the rooms provided were excellent.

Maybe the dining area - if at all - a little too crowded. And a very small gift shop!

The staff was helpful and polite.

Would have liked a room service menu and more information about area available in room.

Good size room. Very good size for New York. Paid extra for Hudson river view. Which was good, especialy at night. But added to costs. Very good location . Near World Trade centre site and the Subway station. Easy to get to other parts of city.Clean Room which was serviced each day. A Comfey bed. No problems with sleeping.

Cost of breakfast, what was offered was good , but it was way way over priced for what is was. You paid for the convenice of not leaving Hotel. Also daily resort fee. Charged you for things you would not use. Why do they do this? I know this is New York, but hotel is still over priced . Even taking into account the location and upper floor view I had from Room

Great location for my purposes. Near subway, easy taxi hailing, quiet, lovely staff

Lobby had inadequate seating, had to request shower cap, notepad, coffee maker was meh, no bathtub

We travelled as family with a friend, and I picked this location due to its laidback environment - not chaotic like Times Square. The place is clean, rooms are clean and smelling fresh and it is so close to everything. Will be staying here again!

good location if you are touring downtown. near the freedom tower , the museum of Jewish heritage, ferries to Ellis island etc
