Hotel Shocard, New York

The location was perfect time square was right next door. Also there is a bar connected to and the hotel gave us coupons for 1 complimentary drink per night which was a plus. The rooms are small and can comfortably fit 2 adults and a child I would say max. Keep in mind there is a 150 dollar deposit as well! It is refundable when you check out though! Great hotel for the price and location! Highly recommend

-Check-in time 4pm , No facilities in hotel,-No restaurant or even microwave to heat your food,-Heating system is not capable to handle the cold weather,-Avoid room 609 due to window is not sealed properly and cold air; noise and food cooking smell are allover the room. Requested to change this room.

The location was close to Times Square, not far from the subway. The bed was comfortable. The room was mostly clean.

MAJOR construction was going on 24 hours a day. VERY loud, could not sleep. A lot of work was being done in the middle of the night, possibly to help with road traffic. Big crane outside my window. Other heavy equipment is making a very loud noise! I would not have stayed at this location if this had been disclosed. I'm seeking a partial refund; it was so bad. The hotel is in much need of updates. The TV had a big red line from top to bottom in the middle of the screen. There was no hand soap to wash your hands after using the restroom. Had to go into the shower and use the body wash on the wall. No coffee available in the room or lobby. However, the hotel furnished one couple per room per day with poor coffee at the bar. There was so much light from the LED signs across the street that it felt like daylight outside all night long. The curtain in the room was installed, allowing too much light into the room. It may sound like I'm being picky, but it was like sleeping with all the lights on in the room. It could have been a simple fix.

The room was quiet, especially for New York City. The staff was friendly and talked with me everytime I walked through. Overall, it was a great hotel room for a very busy weekend.

Rooms were a lot smaller than described in details. The air conditioner vent right by the bed was a huge throw off.

It’s cold water it have waterfalls on my room on my second day stay the room is to tiny my favorite stuff to use was soaked with water. The fire department came at 3am to fix it.

I liked that the bar was right downstairs and pizza was right next door. Basic necessities met. Great location. Nice dark quiet room with good AC. Well rested. Walking distance from everything and a lot of broadway shows.

Being right in the heart of the theater district (on 41st st. next door to the Nederlander and behind the New Amsterdam) and having an enterance to 42nd st.-Times Square station right outside made this the perfect base to explore NYC by day, come back and refresh before heading out to see shows in the evening. Every theater I went to during my trip except Lincoln Center was a 2-7 minute walk away. Rooms are small but it was more than enough space for me. I didn't have any issue with noise from the Irish pub on the ground floor, but then I was on the sixth floor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of cheap & good food in the vicinity plus you get meal discounts and free drink vouchers for the aforementioned Irish pub.

My bed had an uneven sunken spot on one side, nothing major, and one day I came back to my room after housekeeping had been through to find my door had been left a crack open but nothing was stolen.
