TWA Hotel at JFK Airport

We had a reservation for my 60 birthday, planning to meet with friends for drinks/food and we were to stay overnight at the hotel. COVID became more rampant and we had to change our plans. But the hotel would not allow us to change our date. Very sad.

The airport location was excellent with easy access to Terminal 5. Loved the style of decoration in the public spaces and the room was nice and very clean. Reading the TWA history and seeing the exhibits was interesting. Comfortable bed.

Blue lights on the (empty) minibar were very bright at night and made the room too light to sleep comfortably. The shower has a half door and water splashed all over the bathroom floor! Blinds which didn't reach the floor and allowed in a lot of light.

Location location location

Loud party outside in the evening and mandatory incidentals fee on credit card even with pre paid room.

The location is great! You can use the airtrain to get to the hotel and you don't have to depend on airport shuttles or taxi cabs. With NYC's screaming crime problem this is a safer place to stay if you need to overnight at JFK to catch an early plane.

at 3 AM someone came into our room. They said they were the maid... We called the front desk and there was no answer... I stay in hotels a hundred night s a year and this is a security issue.

Offer Bellhop service - or at least more trolleys available Get rid of the Red Carpet for two important reasons 1.) because it is so difficult to wheel one's suitcase on the carpet 2.) carpet is dirty and stained.

Food selection wasn't great

Everything you need for a basic pre-airport stay. A nice hot shower, a comfy bed, and an airport shuttle that leaves on time. If you have extra time there are a lot of delicious and low cost eats a 20 minute walk away.

Just be aware: During COVID-19 they have reduced the continental breakfast offering to just some bottled water, bagels, and some other packaged snacks.

As I told the Front desk manager, I was so taken back by the outrageous $50 entry fee I was charged just to get on the roof. And come to find out I would have had to pay another $50 per person to gain entry at 7pm for my dinner reservation. In total $200?
