Nothing it was a horrible experience. We accidentally booked for the wrong location and the staff was in no way helpful. Then charged me the next day for their smallest room that was a mess and smelled awful
The location
Terrible! Difficult to get around the area due to odd traffic patterns. Phone did not work at first. TV remote was inoperable and staff didn't know how to fix it. Staff came in to take trash out of room but didn't clean it. Bathroom had an odor.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 2 to 3 months in advance for Plainsboro, especially around Princeton University events in May; early booking can save 25% to 40% per night compared to last-minute rates. Check the university event calendar to experience local campus activities, and use hotel loyalty programs for added perks during these periods.
- Budget for an additional 15% to 17% in New Jersey sales and occupancy taxes on your hotel stay; this can add $15 to $50 to a $150 room rate. These taxes are applied at check-out for all guests, so review your final booking summary for clarity on included fees.
- Select a chain hotel in Plainsboro offering 50 to 100 Mbps Wi-Fi speeds for reliable remote work, and test the connection after arrival. If you expect frequent video meetings, request a room close to the router or with proven strong Wi-Fi coverage.
- Request specific ADA-compliant features like roll-in showers or visual alarms when booking, and confirm 48 to 72 hours before arrival due to limited availability. Contact the hotel directly to ensure your accessibility needs are documented for your stay.
- Choose hotels away from Route 1 if you are sensitive to noise, as traffic volume increases by 50% during weekday rush hours (6 AM to 9 AM and 4 PM to 7 PM). For additional quiet, request a room on a higher floor or at the back of the property, especially on weekdays.
- For major events at Rutgers Cancer Institute or Princeton University, book 6 to 8 weeks ahead to secure rates 15% to 20% lower than those within three weeks of the event. Set a calendar reminder or register for hotel notifications to catch rate drops before key event dates.
- Avoid dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fees, which can add 3% to 7% to your bill; always select to pay in USD when offered. International travelers should also review their card’s foreign transaction fees ahead of arrival for maximum savings.
- Opt for hotels with fiber-optic internet if you require speeds of 300+ Mbps for remote work, as cable usually averages 50 to 70 Mbps. Confirm connection details with your hotel before arrival and request written confirmation if high-speed access is essential.
- Plainsboro hotels do not charge resort fees, which can save you $15 to $35 per night compared to other New Jersey destinations. Verify access to included amenities like pools or gyms, as these are typically standard when resort fees are not charged.
- Consider hotels along the Route 1 corridor for quicker airport transfers; this location can save 18 to 22 minutes on UberX rides to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), which typically cost $48 to $58. Ask your hotel about shuttle services or group transportation for additional savings.
- Be aware that Plainsboro’s municipal water is chloramine-treated; if sensitive, bring a filter or check if the hotel provides filtered water. For extended stays, request in-room filtered water or locate nearby stores for preferred bottled options.
- Use a credit card for incidentals to avoid temporary holds averaging $100 on debit cards, which can last up to 72 hours. If you plan to use a debit card, call your hotel ahead to clarify their hold policy.
- Prioritize hotels with backup generators, as 60% of major properties in Plainsboro have them, which is critical during summer storms when outages can last 3 to 8 hours. Confirm with your hotel if backup power extends to all guest areas if you require medical devices or continuous internet access.
- For enhanced comfort, request rooms in newer sections of hotels (built after 2015) that feature higher-efficiency HVAC units, providing 25% to 30% better cooling. Ask if these sections also offer improved soundproofing or updated furnishings to maximize comfort.
- Save $15 to $50 on hotel rates by scheduling your stay midweek, as weekend prices can increase by 18% to 22% due to events at Rutgers or the Institute for Advanced Study. Use flexible travel dates to compare nightly rates and enjoy a broader room selection midweek.
- Support local sustainability by declining daily housekeeping at participating hotels, where water usage per room-week can be reduced by up to 40%. Ask about incentive programs for skipping service, as some chains offer dining credits or bonus points.
