Grand Traverse Motel

Minimal accommodations, but that's all I needed this trip. I was on business. I wouldn't choose for a relaxing vacation. No cons.

Parking lot was main feature. Busy, cramped, gas station similarities immediately at all rooms front door.

Had what I wanted: clean, comfortable bed and a shower

They had erected an outside shelter for smokers directly outside the door to my room, with the shelter opening funneling all their normal noise--conversation, hilarity, guffaws, exclamations--directly into my room. The noise did not abate until 3 a.m..

We were updated to a King with a full-sized refrigerator. Out side doors from all rooms were excellent due to Covid 19 issues. we had all the service from staff that we needed. Excellent location for our needs. We'd stay there again.

Room was very clean, large, and recently updated. Hotel looks a bit scary at first glance outside, but inside really very nice.

Breakfast was a bit of a stretch. Granola bars and fruit on a table; we don't eat a huge breakfast so not a big deal, but for others they may not be happy.

It was clean and located in a great position where you could loop around the city hitting a lot of the breweries and end up back at the motel on foot.

Nothing in particular. It was a but pricey for a 2 star motel but that rating may be more reflective of old ownership.
