Commander Hotel & Suites

We had never stayed at a hotel on the OC Boardwalk, so this was a new experience and view of the ocean. We liked the location. Parking was easy yet we had to pay an extra daily fee for it. The room was very clean. It was unusually long and narrow, but perfectly functional. I like the comfort of the bed, and the long kitchen counter and table with 2 chairs, gave us ample space for our belongings . The website said it had a “kitchenette” — but it did not have a burner to cook, or any plates, cups, flatware. You need to bring all of that with you. The kitchen did however have a mini fridge and small microwave. The bathroom was tiny but very clean. I had to store most of my bathroom things on the table in the living room area. I liked that there was a big sofa and a second TV, in the living room area, next to the balcony door. The beach front balcony was tiny too, but perfectly fine for just the two of us. The staff was very friendly, fast and efficient at checking in multiple family arrivals. Compared to other ocean front properties in Ocean City, this hotel had a good overall value.

The bathroom was tiny. Only 1 person could even stand in it. Almost no counter space. I had to put most of my bathroom belongings on the table in the living room area. But it was clean and was functional. The room was long and very narrow. It was tight on space, but functional for just the two of us. I probably wouldn’t choose this hotel again for more than a weekend because of the tight quarters.

Very nice 2-room ocean front suite and great location in Ocean City. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious.

No complaints. Location is great. Most of the staff is friendly.

Changes I was not aware of: 1: while there is a sink , fridge and microwave. You have to now request coffee cups, cutlery, dishes and whatever else you expect with a kitchen. There should be a notification on the reservation listing. 2: I was told that there is $100. 00 security deposit at checkin, that would be refunded at the end of my stay . Which it was but there wasn’t a mention of a $ 21.20 a day parking fee. When we checked out. I handed them my keys and was told we were all set . Still no mention of a parking fee. we have been staying at this resort for a few years now , think this is the 4th year and never was changed this before. This should have been mentioned when they gave us the parking tag for the car at check-in.

The area, the cleanliness, the room size, the rooms being updated, the hallway always smells good, the doors to get inside at night you needed a key

The poolside elevator too slow, the way the floors were numbered all the same, most places have breakfast included now days, most places also have keurig coffee makers in the rooms.

Loved the decor and the property was well kept. Most of the staff were very helpful and polite. I loved the ocean views from the room and the location was perfect. Absolutely stunning views! The property was in the middle of the boardwalk so this was between busy and loud packed on one end and then on the other side was quiet and empty. Being in the middle was perfect and gave us the best beach experience day and night!!!

The rooms look bigger in the pictures than in person. The rooms weren’t as clean as I would have hoped but the cleaning service did come daily. The indoor pool was also made to look bigger in pictures as well. One particular staff member was extra serious upon arrival which wasn’t very welcoming but maybe it was just a busy time.
