Pros +
- Excellent location, very professional and attentive staff, exceptional cleanliness, delicious beds. Nice fitness room.
- This facility exceeded all our expectations, which were quite high. The staff was very friendly and professional. The entire facility was sparkling clean. The room was very comfortable and the bed as well. Excellent stay.
- This is a small boutique hotel with excellent staff and management who really know what they are doing. Mr. Alafandi , Ops manager, is just so hands on and always warm and professional. IMO the management sets the tone, and this management does an excellent job. We stay at The Whitney many times each year and it is always consistently excellent. The decor is warm , modern and just feels good. There is nothing that feels out of place or thread bare.
Cons -
- There are essentially no common or sitting areas. The hotel lobby is given over almost entirely to the restaurant; going to this hotel is basically just going to your room. Also, the restaurant menu is unusually limited and unappealing. No fruits or veg.
- Hard to imagine anything not to like. We would like to come back after COVID is over, to see what we may have missed.
- Nothing. The gym is inadequate, but they have an agreement with the BHAC, and that works well.

Great location and really friendly staff. Impeccably clean. Nice atmosphere in the bar.
Our room was a little noisy from room above and ambulance sounds from nearby hospital.
Staff were amazing thru out. Great location. Comforting night before doctors appointment
I had many questions about our stay and they answered them. I loved how helpful everyone was. They offered me another room option with a view of the city if Boston. The services they had available, like calling a taxi service and valet parking was convenient. The atmosphere in the lobby was magical and rooms were beautiful!
Great rooms. Well managed. Good location.
Gym is small. Restaurant opens only at 8 am on week-ends - which is not ideal when you are jet-lagged.
So clean, beautiful and upscale!! Perfectly located near the redline and many great restaurants!! However, the breakfast at The Whitney was phenomenal!! Not crazy overpriced either. The entire staff was amazing. Stayed during a snow storm as well and they were there with a room ready and welcoming!
Very close to MGH. Has a reasonable onsite restaurant. Very helpful for our situation on the big snow day
Always a great and classy staple. Have been many times, staff is amazing, design is beautiful. Beds are so comfortable and appreciate the double-paned windows that keep the rooms quiet. Restaurant also always good!
Excellent location. Surrounded by scenic streets with interesting shops. Well-maintained property. Stylish, clean, crisp.
Excellent. Perfect. Exactly what was requested. Coffee not so great.
Loved everything. Pleasant decor, clean, super comfortable mattress - felt like home.Good dining room.
The property is beautifully designed and is clean and comfortable. The location is prime. A short walk to Boston Commons with great shops and dining along the way.
Lack of parking, but that is to be expected in a big city.
The Whitney Boston is friendly, comfortable and very clean . The rooms are a home away from home! The staff are knowledgeable , helpful and very friendly! They outshine other hotels for service and comfort.
Great location. Friendly staff and spacious rooms. We loved our stay at The Whitney.
I love so many things about this property. The tasteful decor, the artwork, the layout and the hospitality. Apples and chocolate cookies in the corridor on the way to the room. Tasteful and very high quality finish on all fittings and furniture. Location use fantastic for Mass Gen.The room was beautiful, everything you touch is made of great material. The quality shines through. Immaculately clean and crisp. Soft textured bedding. Heavy and robust handles, black and white trim throughout, subtly branded accessories. Interesting books and art. Top quality custom moisturiser. The Whitney is one of my 3 favourite hotels in Boston, with the other two being the Eliot and the Omni Seaport.
I probably wouldn't eat in the restaurant again. Bland dated tables, presented without cloths or place mats, the chairs were sparse and uncomfortable. It seemed out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Service was good and the menu was very interesting, but it was a small selection and some portions were also very small and expensive. For example, $15 for one small halved egg, with an anchovy. I was expecting more. I joked with the server about it. I had the mussels for a main, they were tasty and a good portion, but ultimately I was still hungry, and walked down the road for a chicken sandwich after dinner.
Location and how beautiful the fitout is
The floors creaked so we could hear loudly the footsteps from upstairs
Great location, super clean, friendly staff and nice little extra’s
The room was spacious, beautifully clean and comfortable, with quality linen. A nice touch was the turndown service complete with sweet treats. For me, the standout offerings from the hotel were the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, and its absolutely perfect, central location. I walked everywhere I needed to be and for trips further afield, the Red line station is right across the road. As a runner, one just has to step outside the door to be on the best routes that Boston has to offer.
The lighting in the bedroom could have been better. I would have appreciated a kettle in the room to make tea - not just a coffee machine. My main gripe was the house-keeping service! I don't know if it was because I was on the 5th floor but I was out for most of the day for every day of my visit, and I would often get back to the hotel in the late afternoon, cold and tired, to find that my room had yet to be serviced. However, I enjoyed the fire and a lovely cup of tea in the reception area while I waited.
Great location, lovely rooms
