The location to everything is walkable; food, parks, history, bars; all walkable. The security of the hotel was relaxing. Knowing that there were polite staff greeting/maning the doors and requiring keycard access to the elevator and bar restrooms was a bonus I didnt know I appreciated. The staff were all very polite and welcoming.
My only negative was our room HVAC unit didnt work as we hoped. We set the temp to 68 and it never got below 74. That was a hot sleep but we also werent hanging out in our rooms.

Loved being at the French Quarter. Our room was clean .
Our room was 2 doors down from a construction area at the hotel. It was extremely loud , noisy, and difficult to tolerate. We finally had to ask for a Mgr. who didn't really understand the issue. He did have our room changed which was helpful.

Great location just off Bourbon Street. Really good hotel with a big outside pool. Comfortable and clean rooms. Nice bar with reasonably priced food. We have stayed here 3 times now - which says it all!
Breakfast very expensive - we drove to ihop for breakfast at half the price! Parking also expensive - but I guess is as expected in New Orleans French Quarter

Beautiful hotel very great location. We have stayed here many times. Room was pricey, I guess because of Jazz Fest
This was the smallest room we have had there. My husband missed a bedside table

Lovely, beautiful historic hotel with a large, elegant lobby, a gorgeous courtyard and pool, a fun jazz club, and spacious rooms (at least ours—a loft suite—was spacious!).
The lighting in the lobby was harsh and hideous, like a roadside chain hotel, the room was definitely a bit shabby: the doors to the closet didn’t close, the coffee maker leaked water everywhere and didn’t actually make coffee, our first day the bathroom hook fell off the wall when I hung my pajamas on it, and nobody fixed it. The pool was supposed to be heated but our first few days it was freezing. But the hardest part: We were first given a room on the first floor, which mean the lower floor of our loft suite was actually at the basement level, and the whole room overlooked an alleyway; it was depressing and dark and pretty horrible. The lovely staff upgraded us without charge to a balcony room, which was still dark but not quite as much so, BUT overlooked Bourbon Street, which meant it was VERY loud, all night, and made sleep impossible. If I could have done it all over again, I would have seen if they could put us in a room overlooked the courtyard. For our rate, also, I wish the hotel had felt a bit more luxurious. Our room really was quite bare bones and the lobby would have been so wonderful if they would adjust the lighting.

Nice hotel, staff and location, despite being unjustifiably grossly overpriced.
Given the price, breakfast should be included for guests.
