    • Beautiful, historical, updated hotel and immaculate
    • Stepping into The Woodford Hotel felt like entering a world where bourbon dreams come true. As we settled into the Pappy Suite, the air was thick with the allure of Kentucky's finest spirits, and the decor whispered tales of distilleries past. The suite was a sanctuary of comfort, with its fully equipped kitchen, cozy living area, and inviting bedroom, all designed to make our stay as luxurious as possible. The generous layout provided the perfect setting for an intimate and unforgettable evening, allowing us to fully enjoy each other's company in complete privacy. The bed was so inviting that it beckoned us to linger long after our explorations of the day, while the separate living area gave us space to relax and unwind together. Like other guests have noted, the beds are incredibly comfortable, with plush mattresses and soft, high-thread-count sheets that made for a truly rejuvenating sleep experience. The hotel's location is a lover's paradise, just steps away from quaint eateries and bourbon havens. We visited WinStar Farm and Lane's End, where we were captivated by the beauty of the Thoroughbreds and the serene landscapes. The guided tours provided fascinating insights into the world of horse breeding, and we felt a deep connection to the Bluegrass region's equestrian heritage. These visits added a touch of romance and adventure to our getaway, making our stay even more memorable. For dinner, we dined at Vallozzi’s, where we indulged in authentic Italian cuisine that perfectly complemented our bourbon-themed stay. The intimate ambiance and delectable dishes created a romantic setting, enhanced by a selection of fine wines. After dinner, we returned to the hotel to enjoy a nightcap of Kentucky's finest bourbon, perfectly capping off our evening.Throughout our stay, we were impressed by the hosts' attentiveness and quick responses, ensuring our every need was met with care.
    • Clean, charming, and in a great spot. We loved being able to walk to shops and restaurants, and it was an easy drive to several bourbon distilleries. A comfortable stay with just the right mix of character and convenience.

    Cons -

    • A little better communication, didn’t get full checkin info about self serve checkin
    • We loved everything
    • We noticed traffic noise at night and thought a shower in the half bath would’ve been handy for the second bedroom. The parking lot was a little tricky to find and had some stone piles blocking spots, but it was great to have and we felt safe throughout our stay.

Our stay was great. The accommodations were wonderful. We did not have breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the place was spotless clean. Very roomy and had everything we needed.Just a sidenote, the headboard did slide down at some point. We didn’t even know what happened till we saw it, there was no noise. It did not interfere with our stay at all…..just letting you know.Great place!!!

    Nothing could have been better.

This boutique hotel is precious and super convenient to Lexington. I love the historic building, the decor, and the setting in an historic neighborhood. The apartment was well appointed with everything you’d need. I appreciate how they’ve respected the history of the area in the way they’ve decorated. It is very well done. Also, the manager was kind enough to allow us to check in a tad early which was very much appreciated.

The one negative (for me) was that the bedding had an extremely strong odor of laundry detergent or dryer sheets. Not unpleasant, just very strong which gave me a headache. The bed was comfortable, but the scent was overwhelming. Maybe switch to an unscented detergent?

Very clean. Very roomy. Modern additions to the experience while keeping the traditional feel.

Sorry we did not stay longer.

It was exceptionally clean and supplied with necessities. Very comfortable setting. Easy access. Highly recommend booking.

I have no negative comments. Everything was excellent.

It was awesome location beautiful property well maintained

Noise on Main Street but I was told about it so it was all good

    9MargaretPosted on: 9-29-2025

It was well decorated and appointed. There were special touches like a sound machine, books about the area and bourbon. It was located within walking distance of everything.

The checkout time is automatic and the codes to get in are wiped. We almost got locked out to get our second load of luggage. Luckily one of us was still inside the room.

This property was spotless! Beautiful decor! I loved the attention to detail! And the price was amazing!! I will definitely stay here again and again when we come to Versailles!

We loved our stay! Such a fantastic hotel/concept- —authentic, cozy; you felt the history of the place that was honored by the details and the overall experience. We got to meet the owner and felt very welcomed-and had our questions answered as well as received great tips on the local area! Loved the town too:). Thank you!

    Nothing!

The property was zero touch, meaning nobody to check you in. Our Taylor Suite was apartment like. Separate sleeping room from the main sitting area, even had a small kitchen with refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Was great room for two.

I’m mobility challenged, so getting up and down the three small steps out front was challenging. Especially in the late afternoon when the railing was super hot. Once inside there is an elevator. There should be a sign in the common hallways to speak softly, as the voices really echo. The earplugs on the nightstand were there for a reason. The cars and heavy traffic noise on the Main street out front got to be a little much.

The suite was beautiful—very clean and fresh and nicely appointed. We loved the quirky old (but also appropriately updated) building. Check in was super easy.

The only problem—and though it wasn’t the hotel’s fault, it was unfortunately a real problem—was that there was SO MUCH TRAFFIC on Main Street. I don’t think there was anything unusual going on; it’s just a noisy street. The noise of pick-up trucks and 18-wheelers made it hard to get to sleep at night, and then woke us up at 6 the next morning. Maybe some sound proofing windows would help?

    Location

Shower was very slippery The cart to bring your language upstairs had low air in tires very hard to push The choice of tv channels was horrible

Lovely location, with restaurants within walking distance. Great vibe for the decor, and surprisingly great kitchenette amenities. Air conditioner was kicking like kung-fu!!! Nice & cool!We will definitely be back again!!! Thank you!

Can’t think of a thing! Great stay!!!

This is such a nice hotel. No staff, no check in, just enter your code and move in. The rooms were very spacious and nice. Everything was super clean. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful little town. Location was great and hotel was wonderful.

The thermostat. We are Florida people and the air conditioning was working a little too good for us. So I had trouble warming it up a bit.

    Location decor clean and quiet

    Couldn't enter from rear lot.

    8SuePosted on: 6-30-2025

The location was great. Right in the middle of all the Distilleries. The decor was well done. The people that rent the space were accommodating. I would stay there again. We enjoyed all of the books about all the local distilleries. Thank you for a lovely experience.

The air conditioning in the one bedroom didn’t cool off like the other rooms but it is an older building and we were there on some of the hottest days. The road out front is busy during work hours but it does slow down later and is quiet. The parking lot was under construction.

I loved that it had an elevator. It was very very clean.

They had cheap 1 ply toilet paper
