Pros +

  • I felt like I was staying at a friends house. I was greeting by name everytime I came in the door and we had some great conversations about the hotel and fort as well as things outside the area. I would book and stay here again.
  • I enjoyed Fort Scott historic downtown. It¿s one of nicest downtown scenes in Kansas. Beautifully decorated at Christmas time. The hotel is a few step from the historic shops and restaurants. Once you¿re there you can walk to everything.
  • The hotel is more about keeping to the authenticity of the building and not modern convenience. I had everything I needed and enjoyed the beauty of the old building.

Cons -

  • I knew the rooms would be small when I booked as it is a historic location. Breakfast was a bit small on selection but still available.
  • The hotel is an updated historic building. If you¿re looking for brand new modern you might not like it. It was full of character, some squeaks in the old wood floors and the room was a little small. I consider it part of the character. It was very clean
  • My only complaint is that I had hanging items and there was not a convenient place for them to hang in the room.
