Gateway Inn Oaklawn-Chicago Midway airport

The guy at the front desk was awesome. My flight was at 6 AM so I had to leave around 4 AM and he never asked to hold a credit card at check-in or the $50 deposit. He just told us to drop the keys in the box when we left and we’d be good to go.

It has somewhere in tear, but that was to be expected. I’ve honestly seen about the same at a three star hotel so this being a two star I feel like it was more than acceptable.

Great location. Close to a lot of the areas we needed to go to this weekend.

The smell in the room was awful. It was musty and almost smelled like stale smoke. We opened the windows during the day and even had to buy air fresheners to help mask the smell but it was futile. It just made the stay off putting.

I loved the cottage feel and decorations, especially the desk.

I likes everything about the hotel but I did not appreciate the gentleman next door who kept me up all night by talking really loudly on the balcony.

Simple "Ma and Pa" motel. Affordable, clean, conveniently located.

It is not a hotel! It is just a motel - nothing more and nothing less. The location was the only thing which was good.

The cleanliness was really bad! The floor was greasy. The sheets were not great - looked like used. No services like business room or any other facility. The cost of such a place is extremely high! It doesn't worth it. It should cost $--- max!

Close to Advocate Christ Hospital. Not fancy, but very clean. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating - it definitely has a family feel to my stay.

Located on a fairly busy street, so you could hear a bit of street noise coming through. Also some parts of the parking lot could be better lit. Wi-fi was free but signal was poor in my room - could definitely be improved.

Though the breakfast was limited, it was nice that they offered it. It was definitely first come first serve.

Nearly everything! The air was cut off without notice.The room was very small. And while the charge for bringing our dog was corrected, at first told us that we had not paid for him, when in fact we paid for him upon checking in.

The location of the hotel was perfect. The room was very clean and the staff were very nice and knowledgeable of the area.

The only downside was the thin walls. I woke up to the sound of my neighbors alarm.
