Foster Inn Monticello

It¿s location was exactly where I needed to be. The staff really wanted me to have a good day and try their best.

The only thing I didn¿t like about the hotel is a cult like my head wasn¿t level I felt like it was leaning to one side.

Kind and helpful staff. Room was clean. Free internet. Fridge and microwave working. Kitty corner across the street from a park, so great for families with kids who need to run. Not far from highway or downtown Monticello.

First impression was not the best--exterior and check-in area seemed a little run down. But the other positive elements outweigh this first impression.

It was very quiet and easily accessible from our vacation destination

For a dated hotel the price we paid was a little steep. The room came with the bare minimum of amenities. Two towels two washcloths two hand towels two pillows on each bed and one packet of coffee for the in room coffee maker.

So clean, so comfortable, very affordable, staff goes out of their way for you. I had such a nice stay. I would definitely go back/recommend Foster's Inn.

I loved how clean the rooms were. The owner was genuinely kind and made sure our every need was met. Across the parking lot is a bowling alley with a restaurant, bar and free pool tables. Great crowd. Inexpensive fun.

My son ate the fresh fruit that were left for us in the room, it was a nice touch. I enjoyed the security of having door locks that worked, unlike the last place I stayed. It was a short drive to ChampaignIL to Fluid Center.

Owners real nice people. Service is fast sufficient. Snowstorm the night I was there.( 8 inches) Shoveled the walk by the time I got up. Even shoveled out around my car for me.

Front desk shuts down at 11PM

The location in the small town was very restful.

The room had a old building g stale smell.

Stayed 3 nights. Had to go to office to ask for clean wash cloths and towels and toilet paper. Didn't check the room for the 3 days we were there.

Excellent value. Rooms were spacious and clean. Mini fridge and microwave. Comfy bed, though very firm (which I prefer). Gentleman at the front desk was kind and quick to help.

Pillows were wafer thin. Sparse toiletries (bring extra shampoo, etc.). One coffee pouch in room and that was it for coffee. Walls between rooms don't block a ton of noise.When leaving in the morning, nobody came to desk after I rang the bell. I prefer to personally check out to make I didn't miss anything. Just had to drop the keys off this time.

The Foster Inn is close to the University of Illinois. Trying to book a room in Champaign is difficult and expensive. The Foster Inn is perfect for families with a student at UIUC.

I have no complaints.

Not fancy place but clean and the husband/wife were very helpful, had problem turning refrigerator on(no knob) wife came down and turned it on!!,note to self,, put a pair pliers in my SUV

Door locked oddly ,when I left the room took several tries to lock it.parking was odd?!big white pickup was in front of my door,didn’t see handicapped parking

We needed a place to sleep while visiting the U of I. Check in was quick. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. If you are looking for a quick layover while traveling the Foster Inn should work well.

A shower did not function in one of the rooms.

Bed was very uncomfortable. Not sure if mattress was just new or what, but it was very hard and the pillows were very thin.

The front desk girl was super kind. The room was clean. Easy to find. Not far off 72. The bed was comfortable. Needs updated but doesn't smell like cigarettes! Thank goodness!

I liked the friendliness of the staff . The ease of checking in. And the affordable price.The bed was comfortable and clean bed and bath.

The Ac didn't work real well. The deadbolt didn't lock, it was offset. Pillows were flat and hard.

Great Value for a clean room. Owners are friendly. In a very peaceful area. Be sure to visit Allerton Park; I was not aware of this area but it you have to see it if you have the time.

Not much to add. I requested a quiet room and the owners accommodated me. This place is a great value
