Hampton Inn Chicago/Gurnee

Location

Charged $35 for 90 minute early check in when hotel was empty. Only 1 elevator operational. Breakfast area was not adequately staffed and garbage/dishes piled up.

Staff was helpful and very friendly.

Under renovation and thought that should have been noted when we made the reservation. It wasn't a problem for us but just felt we should have known.

The inspector failed to make sure hot and cold water was working properly at the sink. The sink only had the hot water working. My daughter was washing her hands and burned her hands not knowing the water was hot. I reported it to concierge.

Location was nice, close naval base

I stayed in the hotel for 4 days but never even once they cleaned the room. I called them 3-4 times to get my room cleaned but no one bothered to send the cleaners.

The hotel is located around a lot of restaurants and right off the express way .

The hotel was not clean , I found an open safety pin on the chair , a fork next to the bed and garbage under the sink. It was late when I settled in so I didn¿t say anything, but I sure hope the other rooms were cleaner .

Very nice. Room was clean and everything was in great condition. No foul smells. Bed was comfortable. Heater works well.

I appreciated the location of the hotel.

The floor in the bathroom and in the tiled portion outside of the bathroom was not cleaned prior to us arriving. It was sticky.

Just a small hiccup with the staff charging us an additional $200 accidentally. It dropped off but we didn¿t have that money for a week.

Staff very friendly and accommodating especially young lady with long dark hair at the front desk. Didn't get her name but she went above and beyond for us.

Very old and desperate need of remodel. Room dirty and you could see mold on ceiling in bathroom and sink had a big crack in it and had an odor. We had room cleaned and you could tell bathroom not swept or mopped.

No fan in the bathroom and the toilet paper is way too thin.

The staff were amazing and very friendly. The pool was very nice the way the layout was. Kids loved making the waffles in the morning. Lots of a variety to choose from. It was neat watching the rides at six flags go from our hotel room.

Pool could¿ve been heated for night swimming. But that really wasn¿t a big deal.

Good breakfast, great staff.

Speaking of my room only, corners in the bathroom were dusty. Broken towel hook on door.

when there was a smell of dead mouse they gave us a new room that was much better.

Very nice location - easy on and off the interstate. Clean rooms and the staff was very helpful. Adequate free breakfast.

A little outdated. Could use some cosmetic updating. Not really a complaint, just an observation.

Had knee surgery didn't feel safe at home due to stairs. Stayed 1wk, hotel employee from housekeeping was wonderful making sure I had extra of whatever I needed due to limited mobility. Room was clean no bugs, no mold.Hot breakfast each day.

Upon arrival daughter couldn't find something to wheel me to room due to limited mobility. 1 staff was with customer, other staff face in computer.FOUND a chair w/wheels to help me to room. No acknowledgement of us.3rd day staff HOPE made sure we were ok

Far below Hampton standards How do you not have coffee for guests on Monday morning? No mini-fridge in room carpet in the room felt damp

Tile floors in room had dirty grout. Furniture in lobby had food stains and looked old

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was great. Beds were so comfortable!!
