Pros +
- The quaintness, the location was perfect for me to get all places I needed to go in Augusta without being right next to a highway. Staff were friendly! Place was clean! I LOVED that they had a tub. That is a rarity in today's overnight stays.
- Our hostess was very knowledgeable and shared history of this old house, and made us feel right at home. The house was built in 1870 and it?s character is well preserved. The area itself is in a very old part of Augusta but accessible.
- Great bed and HVAC. Super friendly hosts. Convenient location for downtown activities. Underground bar is a grand amenity! We will return to this excellent getaway accommodation!
Cons -
- I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE!
- Thin walls/floor. Decor is outdated, but clean.
- Very dusty! There was a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower. Made me assume the shower may not have been cleaned after the last guest. Just not impressed. Definitely NOT a boutique hotel.

I can't say enough good things! Our room was huge, clean, and impeccably decorated. The owners were GREAT, the Fox's Lair a treat, parking safe and convenient, AND great food, the James Brown Arena and Riverwalk nearby. PERFECT for a couple's retreat!
My only caveat is that I don't consider this a place for young children, unless you are booking all five rooms. Also, if stairs are a challenge, be sure and notify the Inn when you make your reservation, they will accommodate you if at all possible.
The character and the bar
You can hear everything through the walls
The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was very convenient to downtown Augusta but yet in a quiet section of the historic district.
The decoration in the rooms was not of the period of the property. I guess you might say that it's a work in progress. We were on the first floor and the band below us wasn't particularily loud but still could be heard.
Cool spot in historic gentrifying area. Hotel employee was playing in the very cool pub in site, too!
The owner was extremely accommodating and was available for any questions we had. Our room was cozy with a private bathroom. Loved that there was a bar downstairs so we didn't have to drive after returning from an event. Great place to stay!!!
it was ok.
It was just ok. The property description was not quite as accurate as I experienced.
The friendly bar tender. Love the room.
