Coral Pointe Sarasota, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Location to St. Armands, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, etc.

The old hotel name is on the building, so it was hard to find.

They had a room for me after the other hotel I booked did not and front desk clerk was very friendly when I checked in.

Breakfast team kept food stocked

There was a fire alarm, no communication regarding it- we returned from dinner to people outside standing around and many hrs without elevators

Cleanliness

Large room with very little storage space. Bathroom/shower design was very poor. Shower was half open and sprayed all over the floor.

The hotel was clean, close to the highway and offered a free breakfast and pool.

The proximity to the highway made it noisy at times. The free breakfast is a nice offering, but the paper plates and plastic utensils were a disappointment.

Breakfast and the size of the room.

1) They charge a Green Initiative Fee, which I had reversed. I stayed at 5 hotels while traveling through Florida and they were the only ones charging this fee. I could find no statute or regulation authorizing this fee. 2) Water pressure not good.

Sliding door would not lock. It was evening when I checked in so I had to wait until the following day to have it repaired. First they said they had no other rooms then after I was ready for bed they offered a room on the first floor.

The main problem is the person who checked me in did not put me in the room type I paid for. It was a lesser room than I paid for.

I didnt like the hiding fees they charge. Be aware when you book, because different then other hotels that include their hotel fees when you book, this one get your card and charge you after your stay. They sad it was for a green fee.

I like that this hotel is rated as 2.5 stars but it has all of the features of a 3.5 star hotel. We have been staying at 4 star hotels which are really nice buth they don't offer free breakfast or free parking. This 2.5 does.

Not their fault but Google gps ran us in circles trying to get to the main entrance. Perhaps they could get a separate sign at the main driveway which points guest to enter the parking lot at that driveway. They do have a small sign but it is small.

Our check in with hotel employee at front desk was phenomenal. - was a Great check in experience. The location was perfect, easy access to and from prime locations.

The morning breakfast buffet powdered eggs. The setup was nice and clean.

Near I75.

Hotel ran out of parking spaces for their guests. Also, twice we attempted to get breakfast but could not get near the food because of the loads of teams/people that were trying to get food as well.

the Front Desk was very courteous and friendly upon check in. Explained all the perks and made us feel very welcome.

Thought this was a brand new hotel but it appears to be a remodeled hotel. Queen beds are full size. Rooms are big but I don't like that the shower was a tub which has shower liner, so germs. For the price hot breakfast should be included, instead you hav

The hotel is in a convenient location and close to I75. Rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. I would highly recommend and plan on staying again
