This family owned and operated Royal Oaks motel is within a 5-minute drive of downtown Watsonville. The motel offers free on-site parking and nonsmoking guest rooms. Every guest room at the El Rancho Motel features cable TV, a coffee maker and private bathroom. Children stay free when using existing bedding. Services at the Rancho Motel include baggage storage and daily newspapers. Elkhorn Slough wildlife reserve is within a 10-minute drive of the El Rancho. Pajaro Valley Golf Club is 100 yards away.

- I got a peaceful night's rest here. It seemed well maintained and clean. Good price for the area. Efficient check in and check out
- It was definitely clean.
- It had a quaint look to it. Bathroom was upgraded very nicely. Room set up was cute.
Cons -
- Super basic no frills room. No microwave, fridge, bathtub, ice machine. I need a tub to really enjoy my stay, so unless I'm just in desperate need of a peaceful night's rest and places with a tub are way too expensive, won't stay here again.
- The tv went off multiple times, no internet that worked, and people were arguing in the rooms around me both nights.
- When I woke up the next morning, my arms were covered in bug bites. I contacted the hotel to let them know they should check that bed for spiders or bed bugs and sent a picture of each arm. I have not heard anything from the hotel.
