Pros +
- Close to the zoo
- Location was suitable.
- Comfortable beds. Quiet very clean room. Handicapped parking near room. Updated decor. Near beach and zoo and mall. Safe neighborhood. Good food options within the block.
Cons -
- No one at the front desk to check us in and the doors were locked for after hours. There was door bell that did not operate and we don’t have a room key because we have yet to check in. Absolute nightmare experience. Must report for laundering.
- The managers were extremely unprofessional, rude, and somewhat threatening. They displayed anger when my son checked in, throwing his ID and credit card back at him. We watched him hide in the back room while a customer was confirm receipt charges.
- Base around bed was wooden and sticks out. Difficult to see and we hit our legs several times. Otherwise absolutely no negative feedback about anything else. Highly recommend this hotel and will return.

Location, walk to beach. Pizzeria and coffee shop next door and a little store if any snack needs
We were denied use of their handicapped parking. Pretty sure this was against the law and was told had to have rented a handicapped room. Funny thing the next morning one of those two rooms were never rented so we should have been allowed to use.
Definitely an older hotel on the exterior, but the rooms were amazing and the location fantastic.
Just a little wrinkle with the check-in woman who seemed to be preoccupied. Was not a big deal, but she could have been a bit more congenial.
Inexpensive and central to areas I wanted to see
Extremely thin blankets and covers for a hotel in such a cold part of SF. Fortunately the room has a heater, but I've never needed to use a heater in a hotel room in any climate before.
Near the beach, zoo, restaurants, shopping, etc. Free parking. Safe neighborhood.
Incredibly rude staff when I checked in. Buzzed the lobby several times and finally called the hotel phone number. The man who answered angrily told me next time to come before 10pm. Nowhere does it say to do that via this website. No mention anywhere.
Clean and safe feeling.
Noise level a little high but I think maybe it was just due to the condition of the building. Lots of people commented that the staff was rude. They weren¿t overly friendly but I didn¿t feel they were rude.
The location is in a quiet part of the outer Sunset District. I was without automobile so I was dependent on Muni buses. Since last I was here in 3/2020 the L-streetcar to downtown has become the L-bus going only to West Portal. But I managed fine.
I'm not a demanding traveler so there wasn't much I could be dissatisfied with
The hotel is convenient for our visit. Stayed there several times. Away from the stories you hear about SF. Rooms are clean and there is a nice coffee shop next door. Underground parking which is nice. A very quiet location.
It had a soda machine but could use a snack machine also.
Good value, rooms had been updated and good location.
Hallway and entry could use some updating but it looked like they were working on it.
Hotel with a lot of trees, and friendly staff.
The room refrigerator is not cold enough for food and there is no control.
Nicely refurbished since my last stay years ago--good accommodations, plenty of plugs, handy microwave & fridge, everything worked, quiet room. Exceeded my expectations!
Lady checking me in had zero warmth & welcome--not a deal-breaker, but unusual for a small local business.
Location was great. Renovated rooms; included crown moulding and updated LED lighting throughout
Only three pillows (even after we asked for another). Only three. Hahaha
The proximity of the Mirage to UCSF and ease to get there. Also the off-street parking, the cleanliness of the room. The staff I did talk to were very pleasant.
I miss the cold breakfasts they always provided. Also, I would like them to include a box of tissues in the rooms.
Location was perfect for what I needed. Super close to the beach and Golden Gate Park. Kitchenette was a plus.
The service of the hotel staff was lacking. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude. The carpets in the halls were dirty and smelled bad.
Rooms newly renovated and very clean
Heater was extremely loud
Rooms looked to be completely remodeled Looks very nice inside. Beds were comfy and the bathrooms look very plush. Parking is a little tight, so hopefully you have a compact car. Spaces are limited too, so you may have to park on the street.
I had to check in late. I wouldn¿t recommend it if you can avoid it. There¿s no one at the desk passed 10pm. No one answers the door bell to the office either. I had to call in to see if I can check in and the gentleman seemed irritated cause of it.
Location. Quiet. affordable. easy parking. low key
it was fine
Newly remodeled rooms very clean
-Very loud off and on heater so impossible to sleep consistently. -Receptionist grumpy and not accommodating. -No late check out (for a shower) whereas power surge on first night prevented us from checking in after long drive -no extra ustensiles
