    Pros +

    • It's a beautiful OLD hotel. Staff were great.
    • Quiet. Friendly, accommodating staff. Fridge, Cean bathroom. Easy entry access. Wine and cheese in the evening. Conversations with old timers.
    • It¿s character and the welcoming staff. Each morning a complimentary breakfast and in the afternoon complimentary wine and cheese. This made for a great opportunity to meet and converse with people from elsewhere.

    Cons -

    • The noise from the street was very LOUD. The toilet ran after flushing. We told staff twice, but nothing got done. The curtain in one of the windows was literally falling apart.
    • .Location. The atmosphere is stifling in the tenderloin. Parking. Extra fee three blocks away.
    • False advertisement the kitchen was unusable no pots or pans

The location was ideal, the room was great with updated bathroom, the bedding was very comfortable, and the room keeping service was outstanding. Continental breakfast and Happy Hour was appreciated as well.

Charming hotel. Cozy. Excellent staff. Room was large. Exceeded expectations. Would stay again.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 8-3-2022

The old style charm and uniqueness - not one of those generic hotels with no character.

For some, the area might be a little questionable, but it's mainly avoiding certain directions and taking detours.

The staff were fantastic, went beyond what was expected. The manager And hotel employee were outstanding. We loved how close we were to everything and the price was excellent. They even had breakfast boxes with oatmeal packs, yogurt, juice, etc!

Not one thing, we will go back again for sure and will recommend this Highly to others!

Location, kitchenette in room, historic building. Roomy and comfortable.

Old bathroom, but as expected. Kids found bidet bizarre. Valet parking was surprisingly easy.

It had recently reopened so everything has been freshly painted. We were surprised to see our room cleaned as the city was still under pandemic protocols.

Nice spacious room..a junior suite Only 5 blocks from center of Union Square. Continental breakfast Spacious 2 sink bathroom

At first glance the neighborhood looked a little marginal but it eas actually OK.

    7Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 2-4-2020

The continental breakfast and HAPPY HOUR with wine and cheese in the afternoon. The location was great since we were going to a play just down the street. Parking in the city is always expensive though.

Getting checked in was a bit of a hassle, the hotel seemed overbooked & unorganized. But once we got into our room the stay was great.

    Location and cleanliness

    Breakfast options are very minimal.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 3-17-2019

Love the historic building, had a lot of character. The free "happy hour " was a great bonus. I had no idea, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Parking is expensive, but I guess it is everywhere in the city.

    10MaryPosted on: 12-25-2018

Conveniently located to Union Square, nice light breakfast and afternoon wine reception.

The elevator is small and slow

    8DawnPosted on: 12-24-2018

The location and the size of the rooms. Very quiet. We received a parking ticket for double parking (although the driver never left the car) and hotel employee asked the owner to pay the $110 ticket, which they did. 5 STARS!

Valet parking took too long upon arrival. No protein options for breakfast. Perhaps hard boiled eggs?

    7Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 10-16-2018

Nice character in hallways and common areas, and spacious room.

The bathroom door was a sliding door: very stiff and VERY noisy. Loud squeek. Impossible to use the bathroom at night without waking up the other room occupant. The hotel staff were not very friendly.

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 10-15-2018

helpful and friendly saff, great room, quaint

A few things could be upgraded a little.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 8-8-2018

Very friendly staff, The breakfast and wine reception were very nice.

The one elevator is a bit slow

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 5-29-2018

Breakfast and coffee were not very good
