    Pros +

    • Our suite was terrific...spacious, bright and welcoming. And the views were spectacular. And employee at the front desk was extremely helpful when there was an issue with the initial room allocated to us. She rectified the problem swiftly and efficiently.
    • Fantastic staff who were friendly and without any attitude. The Big 4 is one of the most amazing bars/restaurants I have ever been to. It's like stepping into 1890's SF. Worth every penny. The people I have met there over the years on multiple visits: A++
    • Lovely staff who were so accommodating.

    Cons -

    • Hotel advertised pool and jacuzzi but you cannot use on weekends unless you book a spa treatment. Lady who works at front desk couldn't give a st. Spent a lot of money and could not use facilities. They should post online that not available on we
    • The blankets were not comfortable & our initial room was meant to have "stunning views" but actually faced a tall wall of the next door church. However, when we informed the hotel staff, they promptly gave us a large room with panoramic views of the city.
    • No mini bar and limited room service over night but the hotel makes up in ways most places fall down.

Lovely staff who were so accommodating.

The interior design is simply horrible. We had only been in the bar previously and had no idea that the furnishings would be so inelegant. I understand having some fun in decorating but this is too much.

Clean, neat, high class comfortable, personable staff

The pool area staff need to be much more welcoming to teenagers. My kids were made to feel very unwelcome in the pool area.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 11-17-2015

Friendly welcoming staff. Upgraded room to a lovely suite because they knew it was my husband's birthday. Very classy thing to do. Great bar/restaurant as well. A real joy!

Not a thing not to like about this hotel. I highly recommend.

Great bar in restaurant, my room upgraded upon arrival, simple check-in, valet, great concierge, wonderful bellman/doorman: Ullyses! Originally decorated rooms with windows that open. Very spacious.

The smell in the rooms was some sort of scent that appeared to mask another smell. It was overwhelming even after windows opened; I requested prior to arrival, no down because of severe allergic reaction to feathers: there were six down pillows in room

Great location...beautiful large room and very friendly staff!

    7MichaelPosted on: 10-10-2014

Room was well appointed, clean and had a great view.

Service was average and in some cases poor.

    10DavidPosted on: 8-9-2014

It's a refurbished historic building, but done in excellent taste, preserving interesting details while incorporating modern comforts. The rooms and common areas are immaculately clean. The staff are helpful and welcoming.

    10StevenPosted on: 6-15-2014

The rooms were spacious, clean and new.

The lobby area was smaller than I expected.

    10CherylPosted on: 10-26-2013

Location first. The intimate boutique feel second The welcoming from the doorman to reception

I was able to hear a man snoring LOUDLY thru the walls. I just made it work

    8VerifiedPosted on: 8-23-2013

The location, size of the room, friendly staff, poolside balcony, quaint feel.

Room should be ready at check in time or room-rate should be lowered.

    10MariaPosted on: 4-22-2013

I love that the staff quickly learned my name (I travel to San Francisco frequently and always stay at this hotel) and greet me by name.

I would like more selection on the menu, especially for in room dining. As a business traveler, I frequently eat in my room while working and I think I have the menu memorized. A delicious menu though.

    9KevinPosted on: 3-16-2013

It's small enough to feel like its your own unlike the vast lobbies of places many times the size. But it's also big enough to have attentive service and staff.

Some of the rooms are a little tired BUT the size and location makes up for that for the most part.

Lots of memorablia, Safe part of City Staff very friendly Great Food

$10 cab from Warf which was always accesable by cab and courtesy car. No Coffee in room.

    10ElizabethPosted on: 2-13-2013

The Huntington has some of the largest hotel rooms of any hotel outside Vegas, each room has a full kitchen, and the view is mind-blowing. I spent hours just gazing out the window. The service is professional and attentive. the do free shoe shine too!

The room appointments such as bathroom & funky 70's closet were a bit dated. No utensils of any kind in the kitchen either.

    9KentonPosted on: 2-2-2013

    Great views. Pool area.

    Excercise room was too small.

    7VerifiedPosted on: 1-29-2013

Hotel was clean, but dated. Linens and furniture need to be updated for a better rating. Location and staff were great

Room decor and age of linens.

    2VerifiedPosted on: 11-3-2012

The room was dirty andthe carpet was stained. The room looked like it hadn't been painted in decades.
