    Pros +

    • The staff , the front desk clerk we saw over the few days of our stay was extremely nice and helpful . Even helped us book a big bus tour . And then when we left we left our keys in the room and one of the staff helped retrieve them for us
    • Location, the hotel itself was really cool. Decorating etc. Loved bar area and book wall. Coffee/breakfast place not part of hotel but right there was very good.
    • A quaint boutique hotel in the heart of the city

    Cons -

    • The hotel was great just the water facet in the shower was weird trying to figure out how to use as a shower
    • We thought the price of $75 for Valet parking was over the top. Why not just make the nightly rate of the hotel more and lower that fee? It made us not want to get our car out and have to tip a valet driver twice in our stay so we used Waymo and LYFT
    • My room was full of dust that I had to wipe up when I arrived, it had an old building smell to it that never went away. Just seems like my room wasn¿t used in a long time.

Located in an exciting area in SF, Emblem checks boxes as a fine hotel.

Most of the little extras have become difficult. The bar was not open. There are no ice machines, refrigerators or luggage assistance. The coffee place is a hassle with excessive delays. Most amenities take a special request followed by waiting.

Friendly staffs. Clean Room. Good location, close to China town and Union Sqare.

Unable to connect to hotel wifi.

    Location was convenient and cleanliness.

The elevators were not working and they were short staffed.

Fabulous staff, fabulous decor. Amazing value for a huge room in a great location.

    The decor was just beautiful

We would have preferred different pillows - we requested a different type be brought to our room and they never were brought.

They have done an excellent job striking a balance between preserving the historic aspects, the thematic aspects (literature), and updating the hotel with modern amenities. Great location, the bar is cool/fun and the food at the restaurant is great.

I was especially impressed by the friendly, helpful attitude of every staff member I encountered.

wonderful night staff. She saved my life!

The room was really nice, but there were almost no lighting, so it was a bit too dark.

Location was excellent, staff were always smiling and service oriented. One of them, Panda, was exceptionally kind to assist me in a printing a package return. Rooms are well designed and a good size.

If you are very picky about noise, you may still hear a bit of street noise if you are road facing.

The staff at the front desk was really nice; they were very friendly and helped me with any questions I had. The hotel also let me check in early, but there was a fee. I was very tired after a long trip, so that was a great plus. The room was very basic. The bed was comfy.

Not a value-for-money option; pretty pricy for the actual quality. The room was very dark, and there was a nonexistent window that would not help. The heater also didn't work well; I had to ask them to send someone, which they did, and it helped, but the heating stopped working again later, and I had to keep fixing it myself. The room had no fridge either; for that price, you at least deserve a little fridge in the room, though you can keep your food items with the receptionist downstairs, where they have one. I won't stay there again.

Superb location, cool decor, lovely quirky comfy room. Bar area was very cool. Staff lovely, friendly and kind.

We stayed 4 nights, the first two nights we were jetlagged exhausted and went to bed early. On the third night we got back to the hotel to enjoy some drinks at the gorgeous bar only to discover that it was shut to residents for a private party to celebrate the hotels Birthday. This was rather disappointing as it was the only bar and the next evening we had tickets to a sporting event so we're out all night so missed the only opportunity to go and enjoy the facilities. The coffee shop next door was nice, lovely coffee, pastries, juices and breakfast.

When there was a restaurant that turned into a night club on Friday and Saturday night that our room shared a wall with, the staff accommodated our request to move to a quieter room. The bathroom had a nice shower with good pressure. The bed was comfortable in the 2 bed room.

Hotel Emblem is in an old building built in 1907 with one small elevator. The lobby is more of a reception desk with a bar behind it and a small seating area beyond that. There is no food available in the hotel. There is an adjoining coffee shop open for breakfast and lunch.
