SpringHill Suites by Marriott The Dunes On Monterey Bay

Pros +

• We recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites at The Dunes, and it’s a solid choice for the area. The room was very clean, and the location is excellent—there is a shopping center within walking distance for anything you might need.Navigation Tip:When arriving or leaving, it is much easier to use the entrance on 2nd Ave. There is a traffic light there, which makes getting in and out of the complex much safer and faster than the other exits.The Room:Each room comes equipped with a fridge and microwave. There is also a sofa bed available.Pros:- Free hot coffee and tea available in the lobby.- Very clean and modern feel.- Proximity to shopping and dining.

• I enjoyed the location as my daughter is a current student with CSU Monterey Bay. Upon my arrival, the staff was very friendly and engaged in conversation. The location was clean, the free breakfast was delicious and my children loved the outdoor fire pit!

Cons -

• - The rotating plate in our microwave was the wrong size and wouldn't spin properly- The housekeeping does not set the sofa bed up or make the bed for you; you’ll need to handle that yourself or ask the staff for help.- Noise: The soundproofing between floors is thin. We could hear a lot of footstep noise from the guests staying above us.
• I didnt like the limited seating for the breakfast in the morning. Also, I wish it was extended a little longer to reduce the congestion we experienced.
