    Pros +

    • Beautiful! Aged but clean. We loved the great room with its warm, unique 4-sided fireplace. Carolina (front desk) was friendly and informative about the hotel’s history, movies filmed there, celebrities, and answered all our random questions about bears.
    • The general manager went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. He was friendly and clearly enjoys being part of the June Lake community, evident in sharing tips for activities and even a bag of local homemade walnut brittle!
    • The staff was very accommodating and the there were very family friendly activities. My kids loved the pool and ping pong in the recreation room.

    Cons -

    • Our room had no a/c, but a provided box fan in the window kept us chilly at night. Some ceiling and front step repairs are needed. Parts of our room were old, but our bathroom was updated and everything was clean. The room had a full kitchenette.

    • Wind noise was a bit loud when there were 50mph gusts outside

Charming inn that is conveniently located next to June Mountain ski resort. The staff is excellent and very friendly. They plan fun get togethers for all the guests like movie night, ice cream socials, etc. The full kitchenettes in the rooms are great!

Room was clean with everything we needed. Great spa and view of lake.

The stairs were very steep with no elevator. Next time we will have fewer things to bring upstairs.

I loved the coffee and water available to guests. The spa was clean and hot with a gorgeous view.

The woman who worked the front when we arrived was not very welcoming of children. I understand the hotel echos with kids running but my children didn¿t feel comfortable in the hotel because of the receptionists looks at attitude towards them.

    Clean, comfy, had a kitchen

Needs a nicer fan since it doesn¿t have a/c

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 7-28-2020

The hotel has a great setup for a "home away from home" feeling. Kitchenette and ample space.

The door locks are old school keys.

    Good location, ample parking.

I could not check in, instead saw a note: "on a break until 8:15" - 40 minutes after my arrival. I called the hotel manager but she did not pick up the phone either.. so my entire group had to wait for an hour just to get our key to the pre-paid(!) rooms!

    Good location

It's dated. It's dark. In need of complete remodel. THE most uncomfortable mattress I've tried to sleep on. No HVAC.

    10RichardPosted on: 4-3-2016

The old fashioned ambiance of the building and common areas but with very up-to-date rooms. The low key competent management.

Really needs an elevator for the 2nd floor rooms.

    9Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 7-7-2015

Quiet, very clean, helpful staff, great location, comfortable, movie star history.

Nicest hotel in June Lake. Location is right in the middle of town.

    10Wai C.Posted on: 1-30-2026

Walkable distance to plenty of restaurants and cafeteria. Quiet town near the lake and the ski resort.

Lack of elevator to the 2nd floor.

Nice room and easy check in. Attendant at the checkin counter was really nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

    9DanielPosted on: 11-20-2025

The outside jacuzzi was in maintenance, so we couldn't really get to use it (which is why we came here in the first place). It was bad luck, because I understand the season was really slow and they are just getting prepared. I'd love to see this feature working next time I visit!

Location, staff friendly, suite with balcony and view

    Fish cleaning room unkept

    10DorothePosted on: 11-11-2025

Great location with amazing views from the large balcony.Historic hotel with great, cozy, cabin style lobby with big fire place.Clean, accommodating and good value.Has a recreation room with games, that we loved for fun family time.

The first night a group of people was in the room next to us partying till 3am. Gave cheap motel vibes. There was a number we called after finally having enough, and they came to talk to the rude guests next door in a timely manner.
