    Pros +

    • The Glen Ellen Market across the street had some generally good food except for the regrettable sandwiches on the first try. I won't bother mentioning the overpriced restaurant/bar the motel has on the same property.
    • Good location for hiking and wineries. Good restaurants nearby. Nice jacuzzi. Good bakery nearby. Clean room.
    • It is in a lovely location and possesses mid-20th century charm. Bathroom was very nice and the bed was comfortable.

    Cons -

    • About half the tv channels on listed were not available. The big one was that I paid for a refundable room because I booked two months ahead and found it was only good for 48 hours after booking when I tried to cancel ten days before check-in.
    • Although it cleared after a couple of minutes, the water from the faucet was quite cloudy.
    • The beds are VERY soft. Mushy feather top with no support.

Location is excellent. Walking to market, saloon and french bakery. We loved hanging out in the hot tub and pool area was very peaceful next to the stream.

The beds are VERY soft. Mushy feather top with no support.

Great location. Food choices within walking distance. Very nice market, tasting rooms and wineries close.

Was a little older and had a strong musty and bleach smell.

    location and price

Wooden floors in the room above us so that you heard every step when the guests walked across their room. We could only open one of the two windows 1" meaning it's a little stuffy.

Great location; Jack London Saloon very enjoyable and excellent food and outside eating; Glen Ellen Market was a great choice for breakfast....terrific food and coffee early in the morning. Still had that old CA style and feel that I love.

The pool wasn't clean and ready to use. It is understandable because it is surrounded by trees but attention should have been given to this area.

    Cozy Cost

Noise from upstairs room. Creaky floors, etc.

The location for where I was going and the service of the staff.

Location is the only good thing about this place.

    Floor was dirty.

    Location was good

Didn’t like stepping over tub to get in shower, no hand rails and no patio.

    10LindaPosted on: 1-19-2026

The food & service at the nearby Lodge was very Bad. It was called "The Saloon" Bar and Restaurant. There was no place to get a full breakfast so we went into Sonoma.

The lodge has an excellent location, within a short walking distance from a grocery store, bakery, and several restaurants. The kids loved the swimming pool and hot tub. The lodge is located just next to the creek and has a really nice atmosphere. The rooms are simple and clean, and overall provide a good value.

The rooms are a bit outdated, but still well kept and clean. Sound isolation in the rooms is not great, but that's common in places like that...

    Location !!

Only thing is thin walls can hear above rooms ..a lot of strong cleaning before entering room but at least was very clean

    8BakerPosted on: 10-29-2025

The room was pretty clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the proximity to the saloon and the Garden Cafe (walking distance). This was a cozy place in a cozy little town. The manager on duty was very friendly and helpful.

With the name and location of the place I was hoping for some authentic decor. The rooms were very plain.

I paid nearly $500 a night and feel as though I was ripped off.

The room was not very clean. You can tell someone had shaved and there was beard stubble around the sink and longer hairs on the floor. The tv screen was ridiculously small and the way things were laid out, such as facecloths, not in the bathroom, lamps that had not been plugged in.
