Captain's Choice Motel

Great location but poor value for price.

Hotel was nearly empty; continental breakfast was a joke (everything was gone before the halfway point and not refilled), room was overly warm (no a/c) and fan provided made more noise than a Panzer tank.

Location was amazing.

A little outdated hotel but nice and clean.

I loved the location as it is a great view of the surrounding beauty and is also within walking distance to the center of town..places to eat, grocery stores etc.. All the people who worked there were quite welcoming and the beds were very comfortable.

Unbelievable view of the harbor in the mountains. The most friendly and helpful staff I have ever had at a hotel.

The rooms were quiet overall, but the walls are thin. The view is wonderful and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the harbor. The hotel is in a good, safe location and we could walk to all of the stores and local sightseeing places. The breakfast was good and we would definitely stay there again, if we ever come back to that area.

Staff was extra helpful & friendly. Room was very clean. Nice toiletries. Beautiful view & nice deck. Laundry facilities.

Price was WAY too high!! Breakfast was disappointing for the price we paid!! Room was WAY too hot!!

Location was great and near the ferry. It was also close to town and could walk to all the places versus having to drive. Also enjoyed the room and comfortable bed that was provided. Would happily stay again.

I really enjoyed the place.

We were greeted by Greg, the owner, with such great hospitality, he upgraded our room just because “who wants a street view when you can have a sea view” :) Great location, beautiful views, comfy rooms, absolutely best staff :)

We traveled in by AMHS, moving back to Alaska, and the hotel was the perfect stop to spend the night before traveling on. Easy after-hours check-in, room was quiet, clean and comfortable.

Older hotel, could use some updating, but it was clean and comfortable. Very pricey, most expensive hotel on our trip, but it's Haines, and when demand exceeds supply, you can charge what you want. Breakfast is only continental and doesn't start until 7:15 so we didn't stay and hit the road.

it was good in that we hired a car from the motel. they came to fetch us from the ferry .The cars were in really good condition.The room was a typical motel room , clean,comfort and we had a nice view over the harbour. The breakfast offered more than we expected such as ,pastries,cereal,boiled eggs,toast fruit and coffee and tea . They dropped us back at ferry . The female staff at reception was really lovely. it was a close walk to the IGA supermarket to get any supplies needed.

Location, friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The help yourself breakfast.

Staff was friendly. Gave us a ride to the ferry terminal.

Recommended the Bamboo Restaurant and it took us over an hour to get our meal.

Instructions for late night check in were accurate and clearly described. Owner was gracious and service from the staff was exceptional.

The view was great, quiet, clean with breakfast. They let us stay until noon to catch the ferry.

Loved it, charming motel near the waters edge, warm and welcoming plus helpful staff, quaint rooms with a lovely view. Continental breakfast was good with variety. They also will pick you up at the ferry and drop you off which was a plus.

The location and the view were the main two selling points! Beautiful view! And located close to the Main Street and a few restaurants. Very nice crew working there. Bed was comfortable and room had a fan and no AC. Continental breakfast was simple and good. You could park by your door to load and unload.

Room had no AC but a fan was provided. Simply had to leave door and window open to refresh the room - it wasn’t summer yet though. Walls were thin but guests seemed aware and talked quietly.

Breakfast was outstanding and room had a great view. Your from desk personnel were very friendly and helpful in answering all of our questions as to fishing and local breweries.
