The Pullman is a quick walk from the Toulouse Matabiau train station And also within easy walking distance to many sights in Toulouse. We didn¿t need to rent a car.
The Pullman is a super clean and modern designed hotel, really great value compared to similar hotels in other cities. We were surprised to be upgraded to a suite upon our arrival, and the staff was very nice. Also the included breakfast was amazing.

Location (near the central train station)! There is a grocery store near the hotel. The room was big enough for a solo traveler. Not sure if it was big enough for two people.
Great location just opposite the station.

Great location at the edge of the historic center, with a view overlooking the river and Pont Neuf. Friendly staff, although English was hard to come by. Artsy-cool, comfortable decor and homey, boutique vibe.

Top Tips
- Secure your hotel early during major Toulouse events such as the Airbus trade fairs, Rio Loco Festival, and European Heritage Days, or for July-August travel, as central hotels often fill up rapidly with rates rising by 20-40%. Book at least 6-8 weeks ahead during these peak periods.
- Check the latest guest reviews on platforms such as Booking.com or TripAdvisor for specific mentions of noise from the street, reliable air-conditioning, or limited lift (elevator) access. Many city-center hotels occupy buildings over 100 years old.
- Confirm whether air-conditioning or heating is available before booking, as daytime temperatures in July-August can exceed 32°C (90°F), and older central hotels may not have modern climate control.
- Ask hotels directly about onsite parking availability and rates, as central garages in Toulouse typically cost €14-28 (about $15 to $30) per day and street parking is often time-limited or full. Most chains and city-center boutiques state options online.
- Check official check-in and check-out times, as most Toulouse hotels set check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Request early check-in or complimentary luggage storage in advance during busy periods or if arriving on a morning train or flight.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speed and business facilities before arrival if you need remote work support. Ask about in-room desks, universal outlets, or meeting areas in international chains within Toulouse.
- Include the mandatory tourist tax (taxe de séjour) in your budget, typically €0.90-2.80 (about $1 to $3) per person per night, paid at check-out. This tax varies by hotel category, so confirm the current rate before booking.
- Bring valid identification, as a passport or EU national ID is required for all stays by law. Children’s ID may also be checked, so prepare originals or legal copies for family travel.
- Arrange your connection from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport or Matabiau train station in advance, especially for arrivals after 22:00, using a pre-booked taxi (about €25-35), airport shuttle (every 20 minutes, about 20-25 minutes to city center), or public tram.
- Greet hotel staff with a polite “Bonjour” (until 18:00) or “Bonsoir” (after 18:00). Learning a few phrases such as 'merci' and 'au revoir' often leads to warmer and more attentive service.
- Service is included on hotel bills ('service compris'), but leaving a small tip of €1-5 (about $1 to $5) for housekeeping or exceptional front desk help is customary in Toulouse.
- Observe local quiet hours from 22:00 to 07:00. Central hotels, especially in historic buildings, may have thin walls. Request a room facing an interior courtyard or upper floor for quieter nights.
- While most chain hotel staff speak English, smaller independent hotels may not. Bringing a translation app or having addresses written in French is useful, especially for taxis or directions.
- Use a money belt or secure cross-body bag in busy areas such as Matabiau Station or Marché Victor Hugo and on local buses. Pickpocketing occasionally targets visitors during festivals or at transit stops.
- Public transit runs limited hours after midnight in Toulouse. For arrivals or nights out after 00:30, keep your hotel address on hand and rely on city taxis or the Uber app for a safe return.
- Many charming hotels in historic buildings lack elevators or offer narrow stair access. If you have heavy luggage or limited mobility, request a ground-floor or accessible room when booking.
- Request a room with Garonne River, Place du Capitole, or private courtyard views for a quieter stay and memorable Toulouse scenery. Many chain hotels specify view types online, so verify this feature before booking.
- Discover Toulouse’s historic character. Some boutique hotels are housed in 18th- or 19th-century 'hôtels particuliers' with original staircases and uneven floors. Confirm if accessibility features matter for your stay.
- Enjoy aperitifs or sunsets from a rooftop terrace or a room with Garonne River views, a feature found in select international chains and luxury boutiques. Check for terrace hours and access restrictions.
- Consult the concierge for recommendations at Marché Victor Hugo’s food stalls, authentic cassoulet restaurants, or Michelin-starred venues such as Michel Sarran. Advance reservations are strongly advised.
- Ask if your hotel concierge can pre-book tickets for Canal du Midi cruises, Cité de l’Espace, or provide instructions for using the VélôToulouse bike-share system. Service fees may apply for some bookings.
- Compare direct hotel and major OTA rates. Booking directly often unlocks added benefits in Toulouse such as complimentary breakfast, €5-10 minibar credit (about $5 to $15), or free room category upgrades if available.
- Review each booking’s flexible cancellation policies. Many offer free changes up to 24-48 hours before arrival, which is especially useful if itinerary changes are likely.
- Carry a chip-and-PIN card for most hotels, but keep €20-50 (about $22 to $55) in cash for neighborhood markets, cafés, or local shops. Notify your bank in advance to prevent card holds.
- Use the concierge to secure dinner reservations, especially on weekends or for popular venues in the Carmes or Capitole quarters. They often access tables not available via public websites.
- Ask the front desk for local pharmacy locations, trusted laundry services, or official tourist maps. Top chains and independent hotels alike keep up-to-date lists for guest convenience.
- Notify your hotel if you expect to arrive after 22:00 or need early-morning check-out. Most chains can arrange wake-up calls and express checkout on request.
- Solo travelers can enhance safety by staying in well-trafficked areas such as Capitole or Carmes and by keeping the front desk informed of late returns. Street lighting and foot traffic are heaviest in these neighborhoods until 22:00.
- Families should confirm in advance the availability of connecting rooms, 'lit bébé' (cribs), and child-friendly options at breakfast. For easy outdoor time, select hotels under 1 km from Jardin Japonais or Prairie des Filtres.
- Business travelers benefit from hotels near the Matabiau station (5-7 minutes’ walk) or the Blagnac airport district (within 10 minutes’ drive). Confirm access to reliable Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, and rapid laundry, especially for Airbus visits.
- Travelers with reduced mobility should confirm step-free access, elevator presence, and accessible bathrooms with grab rails. Many older hotels require advance notice to allocate accessible rooms.
- Central districts like Capitole, Carmes, and Saint-Sernin are typically safe day and night. Avoid unfamiliar outer areas like parts of Mirail/Reynerie late at night due to increased petty crime. Use the hotel safe for valuables.
- Note your hotel’s address in French and identify a nearby landmark (for example, 'près du Capitole'), which is especially useful when directing local taxis or for emergencies.
