Great room. Well stocked with all necessities. Friendly and helpful staff.
Location was good. Close to the water and a couple good restaurants. This was our first time to Lake Tahoe, so the south is good, but think I would stay on the North side next time. Less touristy.

Big rooms and cleanliness. Room is in great location.
Staff were friendly. The hotel is like new. However, the walls are thin, so try to stay on the top floor which is the fourth floor, so you will hear people walking on the ceiling all day and especially if you are on the 3rd floor. You will hear it.

It feels like you're at lodge in the middle of a forest, yet is in walking distance to the beach at Lake Tahoe.
Beautiful lodge, the staff was super friendly. I do wish they had some kind of microwave/fridge in the room. There was one available so it was not bad.

Very close to everything in South Lake Tahoe, yet tucked back in a quieter setting.
The person that checked me in was pretty funny. Initially, he suggested that I needed to pay a deposit, even though I had already paid for the hotel. But then he said he was not going to charge me the deposit because they didn?t even have cable
Easy to book and check in after hours. It?s a very central location. There is an outdoor pool that was clean. It was significantly less than any other places near it.

Top Tips
- Reserve your South Lake Tahoe hotel 3-6 months ahead for peak ski season, as room rates typically surge 50-100% from December to February due to high demand near Heavenly Mountain Resort. Early booking secures top availability and the broadest price range for families and groups.
- Account for a 10-14% combined state and local tax plus nightly resort fees of $15 to $30 on California-side bookings; these cover amenities like parking and fitness centers. Compare Nevada-side hotels just over the Stateline, where fees tend to be lower and some taxes may not apply.
- Heavenly Village hotels place you 5-10 minutes on foot from ski lifts, shops, and dining, but expect 20-30% higher traffic noise. For quieter stays with more relaxed lake access, explore south-end neighborhoods like Bijou, ideal for travelers seeking restful nights or traveling with children.
- Use hotel-provided bear-resistant storage for food within rooms; most properties at Tahoe's 6,200-foot elevation supply in-room bear boxes in compliance with local wildlife laws. This lowers risk of wildlife encounters and keeps you aligned with environmental regulations.
- Request accessible (ADA-compliant) rooms at least two weeks in advance, as only 30-50% of hotels offer step-free access due to the mountainous landscape. Early requests improve chances for rooms with ramps, elevators, ground-floor access, or visual alarms to support mobility and accessibility needs.
- Select hotels with Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) green certifications—present in 20-30% of properties—to enjoy water-saving amenities like low-flow showers and toilets. Ask about other sustainability programs such as refillable water stations or recycling to contribute to environmental efforts during the dry summer.
- Confirm hotel Wi-Fi speeds are 50-100 Mbps if you require reliable connections for remote work, as outages occur more frequently in the Tahoe region compared to major California cities. Test speeds via the property’s app or at check-in, especially during weather events.
- Near casinos and Nevada-side hotels, decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) if paying with a foreign card; this can add 3-5% to your total. Always select local USD billing at checkout to match regional payment practices and reduce extraneous fees.
