The lobby looks to be newly renovated so it seems like the rooms would be nice; but they are outdated and questionably clean. The manager when we checked in "upgraded" us to a king suite and there was a microwave and fridge in the room which was nice.
Customer service was exceptional! Great customer service!!

The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
We did not stay at the hotel we walked in the room. It smelled like cigarettes. There were no facilities. The elevator was broken. The hotel was empty and vacant the manager at the desk, apologized and said she would offer our money back.

Top Tips
- Book 60-90 days ahead for Illini football weekends and May commencement to avoid premium pricing or sold-out rooms, as local availability decreases quickly for major University of Illinois events. Early booking secures better rates and room choices. Check cancellation policies in case university event schedules change.
- Explore UIUC Conference & Guest Housing for summer or conference stays; these on-campus options are often closer and can cost less than hotels during event periods. Confirm current availability, amenities like air conditioning or Wi-Fi, accessibility features, and check-in processes directly with UIUC.
- Willard Airport (CMI) offers the fastest transfer to Champaign-Urbana, about 10-20 minutes by taxi or rideshare, though nonstop flight options are limited. Compare schedules and fares to Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Indianapolis, or St. Louis for a wider choice of travel times, and verify airport shuttle service hours if arriving after 8 pm or with mobility needs.
- Daily hotel parking rates in Champaign range from $0 to $20 USD based on location and hotel class, and some properties include parking in the nightly room rate. Confirm parking costs, availability, and whether accessible parking spaces or EV charging are offered when booking to avoid unexpected charges.
- Choose Campustown/Green Street area hotels for a 5-15 minute walk to central campus buildings, student services, and dining. Properties near Market Place Mall/I-74 give faster road and highway access for car travelers; both areas offer access to public transit lines for non-drivers.
- Expect late-night activity and noise near Green Street’s bars and restaurants, especially Thursday through Saturday. Request a room on a higher floor or away from the street to minimize noise, and consider bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
- For accessible room features such as roll-in showers or visual alarms, contact your hotel and confirm requests 48-72 hours before arrival, as local properties may require advance notice for room assignments. Request written email confirmation for accessibility features, and clarify service animal policies if needed.
- Illinois is subject to 6.25% state sales tax, plus municipal and occupancy taxes on most hotel stays. Confirm the total nightly rate, including all taxes and fees, before completing your reservation to avoid surprises at check-in.
