It was very clean, neat, and easy in and out access from room to vehicle. The included breakfast was actually very good, too. Not all hotel included breakfast is good, but this one definitely was!
The staff was very friendly
A room was clean and comfortable and quiet. We've stayed here several times over the last month to do family business and it's always a pleasure to be here. friendly staff as well.

The hotel looked new and clean.
The staff is amazing and kind
It was clean, and the rooms were large enough for my family of 5. We were able to stay in one room. We stayed one night here and the next two nights at the Kohler resort. The rooms at the Kohler resort were smaller, overpriced and uncomfortable.

Great location and friendly staff!
All the rooms are well designed and very spacious. The soundproof is very good. It's a wedding weekend with many guests, but it's really quiet inside the bedroom. The location is great, walking distance to many restaurants, art center and beach.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 6-12 months ahead for PGA events at Whistling Straits or Kohler, as area hotels often sell out for tournament weeks. Major brands like Hilton or Marriott frequently offer event-themed packages or cancellation flexibility, so check their sites for official deals.
- Allow 60-75 minutes for ground travel to Sheboygan from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE), which is the nearest major commercial airport.
- Rent a car for most itineraries; Sheboygan's Shoreline Metro bus service has limited hours and routes, especially for evening or beach trips. Compare rental rates at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, or ask if your hotel offers discounted shuttle or ride-share partnerships for guests.
- Choose beachfront rooms with noise in mind, as Lake Michigan breezes can make North Beach or South Pier rooms windy and noisy on summer weekends. Request rooms with upgraded windows or soundproofing if available, or ask about in-room amenity kits such as white-noise machines.
- Confirm business amenities like Wi-Fi speed and free parking when booking mid-scale chains near I-43 exits for reliable access.
- Book Blue Harbor Resort early for family waterpark access on summer or holiday weekends. Verify resort fees and parking policies before booking to avoid unexpected charges.
- Prioritize downtown Sheboygan hotels for walkable access to restaurants and riverfront trails, or Kohler (15-20 minute drive) for luxury lodging and golf. Local highlights include Field to Fork Cafe and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in the downtown area.
- Book 2-3 months ahead for summer events (June-August) to avoid 20-30% price surges compared to off-peak rates of $100-$150 USD.
- Factor in 11-13% total hotel taxes in Sheboygan, which add $11-$20 USD to a $100 USD night stay. Use tax-inclusive searches for accurate price comparisons.
- Choose lakefront neighborhoods near Blue Harbor Resort for quieter stays and shorter 5-10 minute walks to beaches.
- Verify 50-100 Mbps Wi-Fi for remote work; request a backup mobile hotspot upon booking as winter storms can cause outages 5-10 days per year. Marriott, Holiday Inn, and other major brands often provide business center access or reliable backup Wi-Fi.
- Prepare for winter power instability by booking hotels with generators for November-March snowstorms. Pack a portable charger for added security.
- Expect Wi-Fi speeds of 25-75 Mbps at most Sheboygan hotels, which is generally sufficient for basic remote work tasks.
- Confirm hotel parking availability and potential fees; downtown locations may charge $15 per day.
- Be aware of Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at ATMs; always choose to be charged in USD to avoid unfavorable exchange rates.
- Utilize the Lake Michigan shoreline for recreation; many hotels are within a 5-10 minute drive of public lakefront parks.
- Check for local festival surcharges, as events like the John Michael Kohler Arts Center Art Fair (July) and Brat Days (August) can inflate rates by 15-25%. Some loyalty programs, such as Hilton Honors, provide event pre-sale access or discounted member rates.
- Consider hotels with kitchenette facilities for longer stays or budget-conscious travel, as these can reduce overall food expenses.
- Book direct for summer discounts (May-September); some hotels offer 10-15% off via their websites to compete with online travel agencies.
- Check for hidden resort fees of $15-$25 USD per night at lakefront properties for amenities like pools and parking.
- Lakeshore hotels, such as Blue Harbor Resort, cost 30-50% more than inland stays but provide direct beach access.
- Midweek stays (Sunday-Thursday) can save $40-$70 USD per night, as summer weekend rates (Friday-Sunday) run 20-30% higher.
- Request step-free access early; older properties (pre-1990s) may lack elevators, while newer chains comply with ADA. Confirm ADA-accessible room features if needed, and note that brands such as Holiday Inn Express and Marriott have accessible rooms in Sheboygan.
- Avoid event-driven rate hikes, as Bratwurst Days (August) and Jazz Festival (June) can triple prices. Book 6+ months ahead or consider staying at least 10 miles away for consistent rates.
- Parking fees vary by zone; downtown hotels charge $15 per night, while motels on the outskirts (such as Super 8) often include free parking.
- Book in advance during peak season, as Sheboygan hotels see price surges up to 30% during summer festivals (June-August) and holiday weekends.
- Verify beach access and proximity; hotels near public beaches charge 20-40% more but typically offer free Wi-Fi and walkable dining.
- Skip Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at hotel point-of-sale systems. Always pay in USD to avoid 3-5% markups on your total.
- Combine loyalty programs like Marriott Bonvoy or Choice Privileges with local promotions such as 'Stay 2, Get 1 Free' for savings of up to 30%.
- Opt for step-free accessibility in older buildings since historic hotels may lack it, so confirm with the property or choose modern options.
- Avoid summer weekend travel for lower rates; weekend rates spike 25-40%, while midweek stays often offer 10-20% discounts.
- Pack for unpredictable weather, as Sheboygan's temperatures can swing from the 70s°F to the 50s°F in a day during spring or fall. Take advantage of onsite laundry facilities, often available at mid-scale and extended-stay hotels.
- Use hotel shuttles to reduce transport costs; some hotels provide free shuttles to Kohler-Andrae State Park, which is a 10-mile drive.
- Verify Wi-Fi speeds for remote work, as performance varies from 10-50 Mbps at some hotels to 3-15 Mbps at budget motels.
- Check for water conservation measures during drought season, as hotels may limit towel or linen changes. Pack a refillable water bottle for convenience.
- Be aware of ATM fees at hotel locations; Sheboygan hotel ATMs charge $3-$5 USD per withdrawal, so use local banks to avoid fees.
- Ask about tipping housekeeping; local practice expects daily gratuity of $2-$5 USD, while some budget motels may charge for service. Certain hotel chains now allow digital tipping via their mobile apps.
- Book lakeside motels 6-8 weeks ahead for the July 4th Fireworks Festival to lock in pre-surge pricing, as rates can rise 40-60% around the event.
- Avoid downtown parking fees of $12-$18 USD nightly by staying within 0.7 miles of North Avenue Beach, where many motels include free parking.
- Choose Blue Harbor Resort for LEED-certified water conservation, as it uses 30% less water per guest-night than the regional average. Ask about additional sustainability practices or certifications at hotels when booking.
- Use ATMs at Sheboygan County Credit Union to avoid non-network surcharges of up to $4.50 USD; their ATMs offer $0 fees for one-time access.
- Request rooms facing Lake Michigan to avoid WI-32 traffic noise, as lake-facing rooms register 45-50 dB compared to 65-70 dB on the highway side.
- Skip Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at hotels accepting cards, as DCC markups add 4-7% to transaction costs. Always choose 'charge in USD'.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speed if working remotely, as median hotel Wi-Fi in Sheboygan delivers 25-35 Mbps download and some locations offer 50+ Mbps.
- Verify if motel ice machines are seasonal, since 60% of motels disable outdoor ice machines from November-March due to freeze risk.
- Leave windows closed during lake-effect fog events, as fog can increase indoor humidity to 70-80%, which may trigger mold growth in older motels.
- Tip housekeeping $2-$3 USD per night; local practice expects daily gratuity, and under-tipping often results in fewer room customization requests being met.
- Prioritize properties with step-free entrances if mobility-limited, as only 38% of Sheboygan motels have step-free main entrances. Call ahead for bus or rideshare drop-off accessibility if using local transport.
- Avoid booking via third-party sites for lakefront properties during fall fishing season; online travel agency bookings may carry $35-$50 USD hidden 'event premium' fees. Booking directly may also provide eligibility for loyalty points or flexible cancellation.
