This hotel is extremely easy to get to from the airport. It's in a building out front, a bit to the right, past the Hertz building. The room and beds were small but clean. Easy enough for a short overnight stay between flights.

Top Tips
- Book Riga hotels 2-3 months ahead for summer, Riga City Festival in August, or holiday markets in December. This approach secures better rates and wider room availability during high-demand periods.
- Base your hotel choice on priorities: Old Town hotels put you within 300 m of Riga Cathedral and main nightlife, but may be noisier. The Art Nouveau district offers quieter stays amid historic architecture, while areas near the Central Station provide easy access to train and bus lines.
- Check recent guest photos and reviews for up-to-date notes on Wi-Fi, room size, and noise. In heritage hotels, confirm if there are steep stairs or compact bathrooms, and ensure heating is available - winters average minus 5°C (23°F).
- Standard check-in is 14:00-15:00, with check-out between 11:00-12:00. Ask if luggage storage is offered and clarify any late check-out fees or policies before arrival.
- Latvian law requires a valid passport or EU ID for hotel check-in. For business travelers, provide company information and VAT number before arrival to receive compliant invoicing.
- Municipal or tourist fees may apply at check-in, typically €1–3.20 (about $1.10–$3.50) per night. Confirm whether taxes are included in your booking total before you pay.
- Riga International Airport (RIX) is 10 km (6.2 mi) from the center. Bus 22 reaches Old Town in 30-35 minutes for under €2 (about $2), while app-based taxis like Bolt cost around €16–23 (about $17–$24).
- If you need step-free access, a crib, or connecting rooms, confirm these features in advance. Many historic properties in Riga lack elevators and have narrow staircases.
- For business trips, verify the hotel offers stable Wi-Fi and reserve access to quiet workspace or meeting rooms. Hotels closer to Skanste or the Central Business District may cut transfer times.
- Explore spa facilities where available. Many Riga hotels offer local pirts (sauna) experiences. Check for opening hours, extra fees (often €10–20), and swimwear requirements before using wellness areas.
- Tipping is optional, but rounding up or adding 5–10% for attentive service at hotels or restaurants is common. Quiet, polite exchanges are valued in Latvian hospitality.
- While central Riga is generally safe, keep valuables secure in hotel safes and maintain awareness in crowded locations like Central Market and Old Town. Avoid poorly lit parks after dark.
- Staff at most major hotels speak English, but learning "Labdien" (hello) and "Paldies" (thank you) is appreciated. Multilingual service is standard in international chains.
- Request a higher floor or rooms facing away from nightlife to reduce street noise. Quiet hours in Riga hotels run from 22:00 to 07:00.
- Smoking is banned in indoor public spaces. For pet stays, confirm rules and fees (average: €10–20/night) in writing before you arrive.
- Travelers should carry passport copies and health insurance. Latvia’s emergency number is 112. Verify current health and entry protocols, such as mask requirements, before traveling.
- Hotel reception staff regularly arrange dining, taxi, and museum bookings. Ask for advice on local restaurants within 500 m or less-touristy experiences.
- Solo travelers should pick centrally located hotels with strong safety scores. Use licensed taxis or apps like Bolt at night, and consider a local SIM or eSIM for reliable phone coverage.
- A Type F (Schuko) adapter is required for electronics; Latvia uses 230V. Carry a portable charger and some euros for small purchases. Riga’s tap water meets EU safety standards.
- Choose hotels with local experiences, such as Latvian-style breakfasts or guided Art Nouveau walks. Some boutique hotels partner with area spas or offer exclusive access to traditional pirts sessions.
